Placement Experience:

Within 4 months of getting admission to the college, we are monitored and prepared for the internship process which includes CV preparation and mock interviews with empanelled placement organizations. Soon after the summer internship, we were prepared to face the final placement interviews with companies coming every week. By February of the graduating batch, 80% of the batch get placed and by April 100% placement of the institute is achieved.

The placements are great in my college. the highest CTC was 41.61 Lakhs CTC. Finance and consulting was one of the most sought-after roles in our college with 51 % of the batch getting placed in these two domains. The placements take place in the 5th and 6th semesters. All of the students get placed comfortably. I plan to join a decent organization that has offices in my hometown. Placements are above average compared to other CAP IIMs. Average CTC is now around 18LPA is what I see. I am a career woman, I switched companies twice and now am in my third company. Almost 95% of the students get placed with a few exceptional cases.

The placements are handled by the placement team and they make sure that the placements process goes on smoothly. Yes, you can easily choose IIM Ranchi or Trichy based on their placement statistics because the placement scenarios at both IIMs seem promising despite the lack of infrastructure and campus facilities. In many cases, Trichy and Ranchi have exchanged leads outside the ABC and LIK worlds. All can be overcome if you are taught by the best professors.

Elaborating further, IIM Trichy seems better than Ranchi or Rohtak to me. The reason being the superior teaching methods and its favorable location both for students as well as recruiters. Apart from Trichy, other IIMs are also doing fairly well compared to non-CAT MBA institutes. These are doing well with the help of sponsor IIMs which arrange faculty and placements. These in turn select their own Directors and invest in the infrastructure required in another 3–4 years as Trichy and Ranch have already done.

The MBA students of DoMS NIT Trichy will not be significantly affected by the presence of IIM Trichy during the placement season. NIT Trichy is a well-known technical institute and around 60% of the companies that come for Techies also come for NIT Trichy. This means that there is a set of companies that are already open to hiring NIT Trichy students. In the past few years, more and more companies have opened up placements for DoMS, increasing the percentage placement conversion from these companies. The Training and Placement Committee also works to bring in more companies that align with the interests of the students.

Additionally, there are alumni connections that can be utilized. There may be some challenges with companies based in Chennai or Bangalore coming from BIM, but IIM Trichy has a different set of companies and therefore will not greatly impact NIT Trichy in that regard.
