Ques. Is the Ph.D. (Biotechnology) at MUJ Jaipur a full-time on-campus program, or can it be pursued remotely?
Ans. The Ph.D. (Biotechnology) at MUJ Jaipur is a full-time on-campus program. All full-time scholars are required to fulfill a mandatory residential requirement of at least one semester with a minimum 75% attendance on the MUJ campus. Remote or distance mode is not available for this program.
Ques. If I have qualified CSIR-NET/JRF or GATE, do I still need to appear for the MUJ PhD entrance test?
Ans. No. Candidates who have qualified NET/SLET/JRF/GATE/M.Phil or are Teacher Fellows are exempted from the written entrance test. However, the interview round is mandatory for all candidates, including those with qualifying exam scores.
Ques. What is the monthly stipend available for PhD Biotechnology scholars at MUJ Jaipur?
Ans. Full-time PhD scholars can receive the Dr. Ramdas Pai PhD Scholarship (INR 35,000/month in the 1st year, INR 40,000/month in the 2nd year, and INR 45,000/month in the 3rd year) or the Academic Assistance Scholarship (INR 20,000-30,000/month). These are awarded on a competitive/merit basis and are not guaranteed to all admitted scholars.

Ques. What is the total cost of pursuing a Ph.D. (Biotechnology) Full Time at MUJ Jaipur?
Ans. The total program fee for the minimum 3-year duration is INR 1,00,000 (INR 10,000 one-time registration fee + INR 30,000 per year for 3 years). If the program extends beyond 3 years (up to a maximum of 6 years), an additional INR 30,000 per year is payable. Hostel accommodation is optional and costs approximately INR 1,57,220-1,74,050 per academic year.
Ques. Can a candidate with a B.Tech in Biotechnology apply directly for the Ph.D. (Biotechnology) at MUJ Jaipur?
Ans. No. The minimum eligibility for PhD admission at MUJ is a Masters degree (M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent) from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% marks or a CGPA of 5.5/10.
