AIIMS Bhopal Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Ph. D course (Open candidates)- A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

1. Medical qualification: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.
2. Nursing Qualification: Candidates holding M.Sc. degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in College of Nursing.
3. Non-Medical: For non-medical candidates eligibility shall be Master’s Degree (two years course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per requirement of the project. Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.

Note- Candidate possessing Masters Degree through distance learning course shall not be eligible.

AIIMS Bhopal Ph.D. Selection Criteria

For medical and nursing candidates, there will be a three-stage test.

• The first stage will consist of an examination paper comprising 30 MCQs, each worth one mark. The paper will cover topics such as English, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, and so on.
• The second stage will also consist of a theory paper worth 40 marks. It will have 40 MCQs related to the MD, MS, MDS and M.Sc levels.
• Stages 1 and 2 combined will be 90 minutes long.
• Candidates should score at least 35 marks in the two stages combined to be considered for Stage 3.
• 10 additional marks will be added to the total score of the two stages combined to candidates who are eligible for Stage 3 and also hold a medical degree or an M.Sc degree in nursing.
• In stage three, the candidates will have to take a departmental practical test carrying 20 marks. These marks will be added to the marks of stages 1 and 2 (including special weightage marks) to determine the final selections.

How to Apply for Ph.D.?

A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to submit his/her application in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on www.aiimsexams.org. The cost of Application Form includes the fee for entrance examination which is non-refundable and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

After selecting the online registration, fill the mandatory details asked for and deposit the prescribed fee through debit/credit card/Net Banking. After submitting fees, filling the required information step by step. Follow the Instructions scrupulously. It will be the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that correct details are filled in the Registration Form.
