How is life at Kerala University?

Students and alumni claim that syllabus, faculty, exam valuation, and academic standards are maintained with good standards. But it makes regular failure to follow the academic calendar. The university does not conduct exams and result publication in time. It is very horrible for the students who prepared and made arrangements for appearing for the exam. But, university follows strict discipline in academic matters. It follows old patterns in communication. It has a website, but it is not a competitive one compared with other Indian universities. Letter or email communication is also not proper. Students need to go there to do anything with the university. The approach is not student friendly. It is very hard to complete courses in comparison with other Indian universities. Student unions SFI, ASFI, KSU, ABVP, etc are very active in the campus. That is the speciality of Kerala and Delhi campuses. If Kerala University is modernised and builds a student friendly approach, it will change the image of the university.

What is an honest review of Kerala University?

Kerala University alumni report that there are no academic plans. They declare and re-declare exam dates without considering the students. The main issue is related to their result publishing. The result will be published almost 712 months after exams. So that the final year student cannot join any other institute like IIT, IIM etc. Course registration is another hurdle. The students need to go to University, and fill some paper and wait until the evening. There are no online facilities available. The most important thing is that the curriculum is utter waste and it follows the method of the 80s.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees per year is a low ?12500. It includes tution fees and all other fees. No extra fees are charged except exam registration fees which is about ?2000 per year. When starting you have to pay college development fees of ?15000 but ?8000 is optional. If you submit a letter you only need to pay ?7000. There are so many scholarships which are organised by the college and government. They are mostly for underprivileged castes and low income students. The amount may vary drastically.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The overall fees is about 75000rs I got it here through merit. Some of the students who's lower caste gets to study here by paying just 1000rs whole year. My fees was about 35000 per semester like that total 75k. But my friends got here through management and they only have 40000rs because they are Christians (Marthoma).

The yearly fee for general category management seats are around 90000 and for state merit seats are around 40000. The fees for NRI quota availing students are around 120000 rupees. Scholarships are provided for children of backward classes and ex army officers respectively

Related to fee structure, as i am belongs to SC category and i got merit seat in my college. My course fee is 7850/- , and 5050/- for for compulsory charges like caution fee, development fee , society fee. For my batchmates who had normal merit seat had paid nearly 45,000/- , for management seat they had paid nearly 96,000/- . These are related to the fees structure.

The college fees the year we join that is 2023 is 58000 for merit seat,for management seat it is nearly 82000 and for sc and st category students nearly 1500.The fees that is 58000 for a merit students includes all the feeses like exam registration fees, cultural fest fees, maintenance fee, management fee, tution fees, special fees,ktu fees,pta subscription.Also I don't have any scholarships available but my classmates are getting many scholarship like if the parents are retired army officers or anything like that.The merit of our college fees is we doesn't want to pay the fees alternatively like during exam or during cultural fest which means that we have paid it at the beginning of each year.The college fees of second year has decreased to 52000 for merit students and increase to 89000 for management students but for Sc,st categories it remains same.
