Is Christ University, Bangalore or XIME Bangalore better?

Raktim Tarafdar
Sakshi ChauhanLives in Bangalore

Every college has its own set of pros and cons. Both Christ University and XIME are well-known reputed institutions. It depends on the course that you aim to pursue to compare which is better. When it comes to campus life, Christ is the winner. The beautiful green campus with acres of active campus life of the students being involved in multiple extracurricular activities, seminars and workshops is what attracts the students. However, the fee structure of Christ is a bit higher as compared to XIME. Both colleges are known to provide good placement to their students and are visited by top recruiters. However, it again depends on your course of preference. Go through the websites of both colleges and talk to seniors who can guide you with some other queries which you may have.

Which is better: Christ University Bangalore or St. Xavier's College, Kolkata?

Girish Singh
Neha Singhstudent at Christ University

Since I haven’t studied at St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, I can not comment about it. But as a student of Christ University, I can present some insights on my own institution.

Christ University’s main focus is on academics. It makes every possible effort towards the academic growth of its students. The university definitely imposes strict and sometimes absurd rules and regulations, but overall the learning environment at Christ is great. Besides studies, the university regularly organizes events and workshops.

Bangalore is a mega city, and the IT hub of India. Christ has the advantage of being located in Bangalore because of which, its students get plenty of exposure and opportunities.

These are a few factors that attracted me towards opting for Christ University for my higher education. I would suggest the same for you.

Among VIT, Vellore, Christ University (Lavasa campus) and BIMTech, which B-school is best and why?

VaidehiBBA student at Christ University (Lavasa campus)

I am a BBA student at Christ University Lavasa campus. I can only comment on my institution, and not the other two.

The Lavasa campus is really beautiful, and studying here is a very pleasant experience in itself. The local population is small in number and quite friendly too. The student crowd for BBA and other courses at Lavasa is very diverse, and it consists of students from all over India.

The campus is small and it contains a limited number of students and teachers. Because of this, the students develop good interaction with their teachers. So even if they miss a lecture, they can approach the respective teacher with their doubts. The faculty is a mix of good and below average teachers.

The campus frequently hosts cultural and sports activities, and students get to participate in Photography, Dance, Music, Painting, Football, Basketball, etc. Basic amenities like ‘dhabas’, restaurants and grocery stores are located close to the campus.

The minus point is that Lavasa is a secluded area. For shopping, the students can only travel once a week to the nearby Pune market (2 hour distance) through college transportation. Because of the same reasons, parcels usually take a lot of time to reach (7 to 14 days).

But if its remote location is not a problem for you, the Christ University Lavasa campus is decent for a BBA.

Christ University offers a BCom (Finance & Accountancy/Accountancy & Auditing) program that is structured to support students preparing for Chartered Accountancy (CA). Through an in-house facilitation centre, students are guided with mentoring and training for CA Foundation and Intermediate alongside their BCom studies, helping them pursue CA simultaneously. However, it’s not a fully separate integrated degree; you enrol in BCom and receive CA support during the programme rather than a single combined CA-degree

Christ University Bangalore offers forensic science programs like a BSc in Biotechnology & Forensic Science (with options related to forensic modules) and MSc Forensic Science, but it does not have a direct UG forensic science major with a formal minor in psychology. At Christ University (Bangalore Central Campus), admission involves an entrance test (Christ University Entrance Test) for many UG/PG programmes. Some specialisations may allow admission without the entrance exam, but those still require skill assessment, micro-presentation, and personal interview as part of the selection.
