Which is better: Christ University Bangalore or St. Xavier's College, Kolkata?
Since I haven’t studied at St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, I can not comment about it. But as a student of Christ University, I can present some insights on my own institution.
Christ University’s main focus is on academics. It makes every possible effort towards the academic growth of its students. The university definitely imposes strict and sometimes absurd rules and regulations, but overall the learning environment at Christ is great. Besides studies, the university regularly organizes events and workshops.
Bangalore is a mega city, and the IT hub of India. Christ has the advantage of being located in Bangalore because of which, its students get plenty of exposure and opportunities.
These are a few factors that attracted me towards opting for Christ University for my higher education. I would suggest the same for you.

St. Xavier’s College Kolkata is better among these. The institute has a legacy of over 150 years. It constantly ranks among the top colleges in the country. However, while choosing an institute among these, you should give preference to your branch. You should also take the location factor into consideration. If you are choosing literature-related subjects, Kolkata will be better than Bangalore. Whereas for technical courses Bangalore will be better.

Christ University and St. Xavier’s College both are quite good colleges but the choice relies on various factors like :
Department
- Apart from overall ranking; the focus should be on the ranking of the department you wish to get admitted into.
- Christ University is famous for its undergraduate courses prominently the commerce and hotel management while St. Xavier’s is famous for its postgraduate courses.
Ranking
- Christ University has been accredited with QS India Rankings, The Week, Dalal Street Journal Rankings.
- St. Xavier’s also holds NAAC A++ ranking for a longer perspective.
Scholarships:
- Financial Assistance scholarships are a valid point in the Christ university to focus upon.
- Merit and Financial Assistance Scholarships are a major point to focus upon.
Placement Statistics
- The placement statistics has an excellent record of placement in different organizations in the past 20 years. The placement percentage is also quite high. The highest and average packages are also quite decent.

A major choice also rests on the point of location. Xavier's is the best institute when it comes to West Bengal unlikely its comparison with others on national level. Christ is also a major institute in South India and it also gets favored due to its presence in Bengaluru. Although it has two campuses in Pune and Delhi too. Hence; decision is purely analytical.
The decision regarding which to choose depends strictly on your interest points & parameters in general. The choice should be made wisely and pro-actively.
