SVNIT B.Tech: Eligibility Criteria
In order to be able to apply for admission into B, Tech at SVNIT, the following conditions have to be met by the applicants:
- B.Tech aspirants should have completed their 10+2 level of studies from a recognized Board of Examination.
- They should have studied in the Science stream, with Physics, Mathematics, and either Chemistry/ Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject. They should also have studied a language and any subject other than the ones mentioned already.
- The candidates should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in their Class 12th Board Examination.
- Candidates are also required to clear the JEE Main in the same year in which admission into B.Tech is sought.

Selection Criteria
- Selection for admission into B.Tech program at SVNIT is done through the centralized admission system JoSSA on the basis of JEE Main rank.
- Total intake in each program discipline is segregated into the Open and reserved category of students from the Home State (Gujarat) and the Other States. Seats are assigned as per the seat matrix which is available on the JoSSA official website.
- One Common Rank list and separate Rank lists for each candidate category are prepared considering JEE Main score.
- Finally, candidates are assigned seats considering their program and institution choice, their category, state quotas, among other factors.
How to Apply?
- In order to register for the centralized admission process, candidates who have appeared for JEE Main, can log in at https://josaa.nic.in using their JEE Application Number.
- To complete the registration process, candidates are asked to confirm basic details like their gender, state code of eligibility, and nationality, and submit their contact details.
- Candidates can then submit their institute and program choice online within the specified deadline, on the JoSSA portal, free of cost.
- Once seats are assigned based on filled-in choices, candidates must upload scanned copies of specified documents for online/ physical reporting and remit the seat acceptance fees as per instructions.
- Seat acceptance fee can be paid online through the JoSAA portal using either Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking. The fee can also be paid offline at any State Bank of India branch using an e-challan downloaded from the JoSSA portal.

SVNIT B.Tech Course Details
- The B.Tech program at SVNIT is delivered through a combination of Lectures, Tutorials, and Laboratory/Design/Drawing/Workshop components.
- Completion of each course will earn a certain number of credits. During the course of the program, students will have to earn credits in the range of 180 – 186.
- In the credit system, one lecture/tutorial hour per week is assigned one credit, while one laboratory hour per week is assigned half a credit. Select courses like Practical Training do not carry credits and are termed as non-credit (NC) courses.
- Evaluation is continuous with components like attendance, assignment, quizzes, tutorials apart from mid-semester and end-semester examination for Lecture courses. Laboratory courses are evaluated through viva, practical work, and semester-end examination.
- During the final two semesters of the B.Tech program, students are required to present on a specified topic in a seminar and complete a group project work. Both Seminar Presentation and Project Work will have a Report and a Presentation/Viva-Voce component.
- Depending upon individual discipline specifications, students may have to undergo 4 – 6 weeks of Industrial Training, after the 6th semester, towards successful completion of the degree requirement.
