IIM Raipur or Indian Institute of Management, Raipur, is a business school established by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The institute provides a variety of postgraduate programs as well as a doctorate program.
IIM Raipur offers an MBA, a 2-year, full-time residential master’s program, as its flagship course. From 2025 onwards, IIM Raipur will no longer be a part of the Common Admission Process (CAP) and will instead independently manage the selection process for MBA. The final selection will be based on the CAT scores, followed by Group Discussions and personal interview.
The PhD courses are also offered at IIM Raipur. To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 55% marks at the Master’s level. Eligible candidates will be required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Those who have qualified for GATE, GRE, GMAT, or JRF can also apply for a PhD.

IIM Raipur MBA Admissions 2025
The MBA Program at IIM Raipur is a two-year, full-time, postgraduate residential degree course for graduates from all disciplines who wish to choose a career in management. The course fee is INR 18.41 lakhs.
The admission process for IIM Raipur is divided into 3 steps-
Step 1: Online Registration of Candidates based on CAT 2025 results.
Step 2: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews.
Step 3: After this, a final merit list will be prepared.
IIM Raipur MBA Eligibility
- To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in Graduation (50% in the case of SC and 45% in the case of ST) from a recognized university.
- Candidates not having a Graduation Degree but having completed CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS.

Step 1:
All candidates who have opted for IIM Raipur as one of the institutes in the CAT 2025 application form and fulfill the minimum academic and CAT 2025-related eligibility criteria mentioned above will receive an email invitation from the Admission Office of IIM Raipur to register online. Candidates who complete the online registration process within a stipulated time will be considered for STEP 2 of the admission process.
Step 2:
A shortlist of candidates in each category will be prepared based on the CAT 2025 scores for participating in the PI and GD.
Step 3:
The final score calculation will be based on the following criteria. A category-wise merit list will be prepared based on the final scores.

Offer Acceptance Policy
Selected candidates must pay the offer acceptance fee of INR 1 lakh before the due data and time mentioned on the IIM Raipur payment portal. If the candidate fails to do, the admission offer will stand cancelled. This amount will be deducted from the Term 1 fee.
IIM Raipur Admission 2025 MBA in Public Policy
IIM Raipur offers a fellowship program- MBA in Public Policy and Governance. It is exclusively for Chhattisgarh-domiciled candidates and aims to train young professionals in governance and policy implementation. The Government of Chhattisgarh will sponsor the entire tuition fee for the selected candidates. All the enrolled students will receive a monthly stipend of INR 50,000.
IIM Raipur MBA in Public Policy Eligibility Criteria
The applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India and a domicile of Chhattisgarh.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 35 years as of the application deadline.
- Candidates must have a valid CAT score from the years 2023, 2024 or 2025. Those with multiple CAT scores from these years may submit their best CAT scorecard.
- Educational Qualification:
(a) The candidate must have graduated from a recognized university with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved categories) (or equivalent CGPA) in any discipline.
(b) Candidates who do not have a graduation degree but have completed CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS.
IIM Raipur MBA in Public Policy Selection Process
The admission to the program includes the following processes:

IIM Raipur Executive MBA Admission 2025
IIM Raipur offers Executive MBA (general) and Executive MBA in HR which are 2-year degree programs in a Blended mode. The course fee is INR 13.25 lakhs.
IIM Raipur Executive MBA (ePGP) Eligibility
- To be eligible for admission, candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks (40% in the case of reserved categories) at the Bachelor’s level.
- The candidate’s age should be a minimum of 25 years and they should have three years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional post-qualification experience as of 30th November 2025.
IIM Raipur Executive MBA (ePGP) Selection Criteria
For shortlisting candidates, the following criteria will be followed:
- Academic performance at the senior secondary level.
- Academic performance at the bachelor’s level or equivalent.
- The composite score for work experience varies based on the experience of the candidate as of 30th November 2025.
- Diversity factors are to be considered only when the prospective candidate is a woman or belongs to a non-engineering background.
- Along with these, a personal interview will be conducted for the candidates.
- The final selection will be based on two parameters: Personal Interview and profile. The weightage for both these components is tabulated below:

To be eligible for PhD admission, candidates must have any one of the following:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent with 60% minimum aggregate marks.
- Professional qualifications such as CA/ICWA with a degree and CS with B. Com degree, along with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech/ B.Arch) with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent.

IIM Raipur PhD Admission 2025 How to Apply?
- The candidates can fill out the online application form through the link given in the IIM Raipur website and pay the application fee of INR 1000.
- They can submit the application to a maximum of two areas of specialization.
The supporting documents that need to be submitted along with the application form are
- Self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificates of 10th, 12th, and all the degrees qualified.

However, if a question about a previous dropout experience in IIM Raipur were to come up during an interview, it is important to be honest and transparent about the reasons for the decision.
It would be appropriate to explain that the decision to drop out was a result of not thoroughly researching and exploring one's interests before committing to the program. It would also be important to acknowledge any personal factors, such as not being physically, mentally, or otherwise prepared, that may have contributed to the decision. Which one should I choose, IIM Raipur or SIMSREE (Sydenham)? I am an average mechanical engineering graduate. I have offers from both of them. Which one should you suggest?
If you choose IIM Raipur you can definitely grab the IIM tag. But in reality, SIMSREE is one of the oldest B Schools and thus has a better plethora of opportunities. Joining SIMSREE is a better choice because

- It is located in Mumbai, the financial capital of India
- 100% placement record
- Amazing ROI
- Small-batch size
- Decent faculty base
You can avail so many opportunities by joining SIMSREE but will only get an IIM tag if you join IIM Raipur. Moreover, you will be burdened with repaying the loan. IIM Raipur might also not have top firms visit the campus for placements due to its location.
So it’s better to join SIMSREE and focus on the technical aspect of an MBA than join IIM Raipur just for the brand name.
What is the admission process for IIM Raipur?
In order to secure admission into IIM Raipur, it is crucial for you to perform exceptionally well on the CAT exam and achieve a percentile of 97 or higher. While the CAT 2021 CAP Cutoff was 92 percentile, a score higher than that is recommended to increase your chances of being shortlisted. After successfully passing the CAT exam, you will be required to clear the WAT (Written Admission Test) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds of the Common Admission Process (CAP).
IIM Raipur will then release its own shortlist of candidates based on their CAP round scores, profiles, and percentiles. It is important to note that the percentile requirement may vary depending on factors such as gender and academic stream. The 97 percentile is only a rough estimate and it may fluctuate based on these factors.
Which IIM amongst the two should one join, IIM Ranchi and IIM Raipur?
If we talk about the brand value and worth of these two IIMs I don’t think there are many dissimilarities. The difference between the two is some personal level factors like
Campus: IIM Ranchi has no permanent campus and this is one of the major shortcomings of this institute. IIM Raipur on the other hand has a vast 200-acre campus. It is decked with world-class facilities and will give you the feeling of staying at a hotel.
Placements: IIM Raipur has better placements than IIM Ranchi and for many, this is a major deciding factor. The table below compares the placement statistics of the two IIMs.

Let’s make this easy to understand by comparing what you will be earning in 2 years if you continue to work here and the average package you might be offered after completing an MBA of 2 years.
Your current salary is 13 LPA. So in 2 years, you will be earning around 16 LPA. The average salary of IIM Raipur is INR 17.73 LPA. Now if you compare the two you will see there isn’t much difference between the two. In fact, if you go for an MBA you will end up with an extra loan. Paying back the hefty loan is itself a big task. So, in my opinion, you should continue working in the firm.
If you really want to pursue MBA, prepare for CAT next year and aim for an older IIM as it might improve your opportunities. Then again go for CAT again only if you are confident that you will
be able to ace it.

IIM Raipur admission 2024 will be done through a Common Admission Process (CAP), along with the other 9 IIMs. IIM Raipur MBA admissions are based on the CAT, followed by a Personal Interview. IIM Raipur CAT cut-off is 94 percentile overall and 73 percentile for sectional. IIM Raipur MBA intake is 328 for the 2024-26 batch. The candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Interview, based on the percentile obtained in CAT 2023. Those candidates who have scored above the minimum cut-off have a high chance of getting shortlisted for the personal interview. The final selection of the candidates is done on the basis of the final composite score, which is calculated based on the parameters like CAT score, PI, score, VARC, and profile.
Post Graduate Program (PGP) is a master’s level full-time residential program at IIM Raipur. IIM Raipur is part of the Common Admission Process 2024. The admission for this program follows a two-stage process, namely, shortlisting candidates for personal interview (PI) & personal profile mapping, and final selection. Selection of candidates is based on the Final composite score under each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, and ST). This admission policy applies only to the PGP selection process for the 2024-26 batch. Please note that IIM Raipur reserves the right to modify the shortlisting criteria for personal interview and final selection at any point in time till the admission of the 2024-26 batch is completed.

Yes, IIM Raipur conducts entrance examinations for the certification courses. You must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. You must have 3 years minimum work experience.
The admission criteria of EFPM are you must have a valid score in the CAT/ GRE or GMAT (last two years) along with the application form of the course. You are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
