- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with the Science stream from a recognized board/institution.
- A valid score in JEE Advanced is also mandatory. The following applicants are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced:
- Qualified class XII exam in the Science stream, the minimum 75% criteria has been scrapped for admissions for the General category (65% for SC/ST).
- JEE Main qualifiers can appear for JEE Advanced exam.
- JEE Main qualifiers are not required to appear for JEE Main again, they can directly appear for JEE Advanced exam.

Year wise fees was about 2 lakhs which was the tution fees and including everything like mess and hostel and other insurance related things it will be about 3 lakhs per annum or 1.5 lakhs per semester for the general or obc people. For the sc and st they dont need to give the tution fees of 2 lakhs.They need to pay only the hostel and mess fees

- Campus Culture and Social Life : IIT PATNA offers a diverse campus culture , e.g. this year students from 27 states came to IIT PATNA for their academics, but being a new IIT it is still evolving to give more exposure.
- Faculty and Mentorship: The professors of IIT PATNA are highly experienced and qualified,(some are included in top 2% scientist in the world).
Dislikes
- Strict Rules and Regulations: After 10 PM, it is not allowed to go out of the hostel (for both boys and girls).
- Large Campus Area: You need to have a bicycle here to roaming in the college although free bus service is there but it is often much crowded.

The year wise fee breakdown is as follows: 1st year Tution fee: INR 66,666(after 2/3rd fee remission on INR 200000). The fee structure is pretty standard and scholarships are available for the needy. There is also assistance via loan if someone needs it. These loans are financed by major banks like State bank of India.

There some scholarship if you are eligible like mcm by iit patma ,nsp and other private scholarship.

- hostel life is very good here with a students of almost every state.
- As it is an iit , it is always good to be here.

- weather here is very humid and hot and gets a lot of mosquitoes whole year
- quite a few variety of food shops here and very few cafe

Fee here is also similar to other iits . it is on the higher note for financially weak students but there are always scholarships for them to avail benefits. the complete fee is 12,00,000 inr . campus employment is not here and about fee hike I haven't seen it yet

FOR ME BEING A GENERAL CANDIDATE, WE ARE TO PAY 100000 AND FOR SC AND ST CANDIDATES FEE WAIVER IS THERE FOR THE TUTION FEE, WHICH APPEARS QUITE HELPFULL. ALSO THE COLLEGE PROVIDES US WITH GOOD INDUSTRIAL CONTACT THUS GIVING US GOOD PLACEMENTS AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.

- 75 percent attendance to classes is so mandatory that if sometimes not met will be taken serious issues
- Weather here gets so cold to go outside in winter
Fees and Financial Aid:
The fee structure for the course is different for different caste students. As per Indian Government rules and regulations, all IITs follow the same rule. The students from general caste(OC) should pay all the tution, hostel and mess fee without any deduction. The students from OBC caste have to pay one thirds of their tution fee i.e., two thirds of the tution fee is waived, and they have to pay full hostel and mess fee. Finally the students from SC/SC caste have no tution fee and only hostel and mess fee. The tution fee is around 2.5 lakh per year and hostel plus mess fee is around 65 thousand per semester

The fee structure of my college is like 1 Lakh tuition fee and about 30k approx on other stuff like gymkhana fee, medical insurance fee, etc. The economically weaker section and sc/st students get relief on tuition fees and the MMC scholarship is also provided here for eligible students.

Which is the best in EE and ME, IIT Dhanbad, Bhubaneswar, Patna , Jodhpur or Mandi?
I don’t know much about other IITs and am familiar with the situation in IIT Patna only. My brother is currently a student there in the Electrical branch. He says that the situation here is nothing that people with preconceived notions regarding Patna or Bihar think it to be.
IIT Patna UG EE Courses are great and it’s considered the toughest branch for a UG student like any other IITs. However, the curriculum here is very diverse and you will be introduced to both Electrical and Electronics and you can decide which one intrigues you more. You can pursue Coding and Open Source Development too as an electrical student. You will be surprised to know that IIT Patna’s best coded is a senior m of the EE Branch who cleared Google Code Jam and was also part of this year’s ACM-ICPC Team which qualified for the World Final and secured 56 Rank. There are many other examples of students who cleared GSoC.
IIT Patna also encourages its students to pursue research or go for Higher Studies. The professors and seniors offer relentless support.
