Gauhati University offers Ph.D. programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Technology, Law, and Medicine. Admissions to PhD programs are based on the GURET (GU Research Eligibility Test). Recipient of CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRF, and any National Level Fellowship / Scholarship (awarded for the Ph.D. program by a National Agency, such as INSPIRE Fellowship, MHRD, etc.) in the concerned subjects are exempted from appearing in the GURET, subject to verification and approval by the competent authority of GU.

Note: The final admission of exempted applicants into the Ph.D. program will be limited to a maximum of 50% (fifty percent) of total admitted applicants in any discipline in any academic year. Many hostels and pgs are nearby both male and female there are a few colleges nearby so most of them are good.
Good interaction for various cultures...in my batch there were many students of other states and we had a good bond.

Dislikes

Well it's a government college so ofc the office has its own pride.
Small Campus...the campus was quite small but it has a basketball court.

Admission:

The process is smooth you have to apply online and you will be admitted based on merit. The details are on the official website. Apart from the semester exams general tests occur very 2-3 months. The process is normally offline but to increase the ease of addmission it could be made online.

The library are huge large, and they provides many books

There is no placement in our institute, very poor condition.

Admission:

The eligibility of the courses are Btech Mtech Bdes. You can find application forms in cit website cit.ac.in ST SC will get benefits of reservation. The frequency and timing of exams is 3 hours and difficulty is medium. You can take admission in cit campus in admission cell or cit.ac.in

The lab facilities of CIT is the number of things I liked most in our computer science department we have total 5 lab and overall facilities are Quite high
The Central library of CIT kokrajhar is one of the most beautiful things I liked most our library is one of the best library with capacity of more than 1 lakh

Dislikes

There is a certain problems in CIT like some times we have facing a electricity issue
Sometimes the connectivity is not good as you expected

Admission:

You can come cit after you completed 10 and take a part of your diploma courses But most of our students take part in btech module you can take part in btech after jee marks basis and they took a seperate entrance

Competent faculty. I never expected professors to be this passionate about their fields here. Everyone takes their work really seriously. I don't think I can remember the last time they have cancelled any class in a working day.
Labs are well equiped, at least have been till now. Never felt there was a shortage of any machine.

Dislikes

Frequent power cuts is one of the worst aspects here. There's tremendous scope of improvement although and it's being done at lightning speed.
Placements: Despite being a CFTI, placements haven't been up to the mark and don't do justice to its tag.

Admission:

You should have scored >50% in your 10+2 exams to be eligible for a BTech degree here. Application forms come out every year just after board exams so be prepared for the counseling process and keep checking cit.ac.in regularly for necessary information. All reservation schemes expected from a CFTI are available. As a CFTI, it should take BTech undergraduates only under JEE Main to ensure the quality of students don't get diluted.

Our colleges admission is very simple just you have to passed entrance exam and take an admission. If you have take in science in HS then you can take admission in B. Tech other wise you can also take in Diploma. Cut off mark may be change year by year.

You are eligible when you pass the entrance. You can visit cit website cit.ac.in where you can find all the forms. ST, SC gets benefits in addmission and counseling. The frequency and timing of exams is 3 hours and the difficulty level is medium. You can visit the campus for admission in the admission cell.

In placement, i don't like CIT because they don't provide any placements

Here courses are Btech Mtech Bdesign. you should pass the entrance then you can be eligible for courses. You should visit the CIT website CIT.ac.in, you can get information about this all. ST and SC will get reservation benefits in addmission and counselling. The exams are conducted by CIT and timings are basically 3 hours and difficulties are moderate level. For admission, you should visit the CIT campus in the addmission cell

I didn't appear for any entrance exam to take admission in this college. It was completely based on class 12th percentage. Admission was not at all difficult and the entire admission process was very smoothly carried out.

The infrastructure is very good..there are enough opportunities.
There're sufficient amount of things to learn.The extracurricular activities are very actively conducted in the university

Dislikes

The hostel food is sometimes disappointing.Other than that everything is very well and adequate.

Admission:

The admission process was quite simple.. For my course BSC nursing, there were total 60 seats . It was based on the percentage of class 12th . basically if your percentage is more than 60% then it's enough. They did online interview where the nursing facilities itself took the interview. The qualification level is very important. As they only expect the good students and good results from the University.
