Ques. Which specialisation should I choose in MA Mass Communication at ADBU - Electronic Media, Print Media, or Communication for Development?

Ans. The choice depends on your career goals. Electronic Media is ideal if you want to work in television production, film making, or digital video content creation. Print Media suits those interested in journalism, news reporting, political communication, or sports journalism. Communication for Development is best for those who want to work with NGOs, government agencies, or international organisations in the field of development communication, social change, and community outreach. All three specialisations are offered at the Tapesia Campus with dedicated studio and lab facilities.

Ques. Does ADBU MA Mass Communication require any entrance exam, or is it purely interview-based?

Ans. ADBU does not conduct a written entrance test for MA Mass Communication. The selection is based on your graduation academic record and performance in a Personal Interview. Candidates with a background in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Photography have an advantage, but graduates from any stream are eligible. The interview typically assesses your communication skills, awareness of current media trends, and motivation for pursuing the programme.

Ques. What studio and production facilities are available for MA Mass Communication students at ADBU?

Ques. Can a Science or Commerce graduate apply for MA Mass Communication at ADBU?

Ans. Yes, graduates from any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) are eligible to apply for MA Mass Communication at ADBU, provided they have scored at least 50% aggregate in their graduation. This is one of the more inclusive aspects of the programme. While candidates with a background in Mass Communication or Journalism have an advantage in the interview, students from other backgrounds who demonstrate strong communication skills and a genuine interest in media are also considered.

Ques. What career opportunities are available after completing MA Mass Communication from ADBU?

Ans. Graduates of the MA Mass Communication programme at ADBU can pursue careers as journalists, news reporters, television producers, video editors, documentary filmmakers, radio jockeys, public relations executives, development communication specialists, and media researchers. ADBU's Placement Cell also facilitates campus recruitment.

Ques. Is the MA Mass Communication programme at ADBU offered at the Tapesia Campus or the Azara Campus, and does this affect daily commuting?

Ans. The MA Mass Communication programme is offered exclusively at the Tapesia Campus, located at Tapesia Gardens, Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, approximately 25-30 km from Guwahati city. The Tapesia Campus is a fully residential campus, so most students opt for on-campus hostel accommodation, which eliminates the need for daily commuting. Hostel accommodation is available at Rs. 14,000 per semester (accommodation only, food available separately). Students who prefer to commute from Guwahati should factor in travel time and costs, as the campus is not easily accessible by public transport.
