Honest Opinion in the college

Likes

The college gives an opportunity for top CPGA scorers to avail single rooms(hostel) which are good enough for the students. The fees for the single seater rooms are 26,000 per semester.
There are pretty good teachers for the course Computer Science and Engineering, who make students to explore what's happening in the subject and not just studying for the sake of exams.
Placement wise the college is doing pretty well this year(2025), where the top salary was 56.8LPA taken by DE SHAW, and Flipkart took a total of 20 students, 12 were placed for 34.5LPA and 8 students got internship opportunities who were 3rd year CSE

Dislikes

Although the college is decent enough, the infrastructure and facilities are very old.
Almost half of the College is filled with Odisha Category candidates who come to the college by their own Counselling.
There are very less Sport facilities and equipments.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many internship opportunities provided at the starting of 3rd year and also at the starting or 4th year by companies like flipkart, oracle(which is consistent every year), visa, de shaw and many others. The stipend varies depending on the company, De shaw offered 3 Lakh stipend whereas Flipkart offered around 2 lakhs and Oracle offered 1.5 lakh stipend.

Have collabs with IBM, Samsung, Capgemini for RnD and NUS singapore , University of North Texas
Our college has hosted International Conferences like IEEE InGAARS 2025and Indocrypt 2025, where scientists had came from NASA, ISRO, all IITs, Foreign Universities, etc
Exposure is Good. The teachers here put efforts to teach and research. Unlike other colleges where teachers comes and roll out PPTs, here every teacher teaches on Board explaining everything properly

Dislikes

Few teachers speak in Odia accent, so it takes couple weeks to adjust
Campus is kind of small (36acres), but its good area for a IIIT, considering IIIT delhi is just 25 acres
3 occupancy hostels for 1st years (same goes for any other NIT/IIIT), but they have a option of single rooms from 2nd year

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are on own basis or proffs help you in case u r a bright student through there connections, otherwise u can do rearch internship in the college itself Alumini Network also helps u to get internships

IIITB is best!

Likes

Campus life and personal life are well manageable.
Since peers here are all charged up, we also gets motivated looking at them.
Every 2 months we have some exciting events coming up.

Dislikes

Bhubaneshwar is little outdated or low in terms of connectivity and facilities.

I am in my final year and 80% of my classmates including me are already placed. All top MNCs comes to our campus and currently most students are placed in the ranked of 10-20 LPA of CSE branch and top placement was of 52 LPA.

IIIT Bhubaneswar means technology!

Likes

Not just for academics but even for placements our college is best in Orissa.
Even in infrastructure we have the best facilities which also includes girls hostels
Self defense is also taught at our college and I am grateful for that.

Dislikes

Timings are very strict as we have to be back at campus by 7 pm and for boys it's 9 pm.
Partiality is done with students of Orissa getting more opportunities.

Placement Experience:

Amazon, Google, Wipro, HCL Tech and many such which has been around for a while in the tech business and has built tech for many overseas companies too are the ones which have already started coming. I am in my final year and around 40% students have already been recruited and I hope before this semester ends, i too get placements.

A review about IIIT BBSRkar

Likes

strong coding culture in the campus. more or less every one is inclined towards building a carrier in tech
there is a good opportunity for internship and placement here in our college
college is located in the greenery area. there is exposure of startups and some companies here

Dislikes

limited campus size compared to several nits which prohibits us to have certain facilities
college is on the outskirts of the city. we have to travel some distance to reach main city area
the quality of mess food is not very good here.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for placements from the third year. Companies like Oracle, DE Shaw, Flipkart, Media.net, Zscaler, and Dell came for placements. 270 offers were made, with a placement percentage of about 80 percent.

IIIT - Bhubaneshwar its your choice if you are ready the college is resourcefull

The college is well maintained with daily cleaning staffs , hostels are equipped with high speed wifi ,there are cultural, tech ,
The annual college fest is great ADVAITA, there are other tech fests, hackathons , seminars, religious celebrations , sports events happening on weekends regularly, there are indoor badminton courts inside every hostels
playground is nice , has a canteen, stationary store, Nescafe outlet inside campus which is functional until midnight, online services like swiggy, zomato, jiomart, ajio, flipkart , amazon are accessible ,

Dislikes

Girls boys ratio is low as like most engineering colleges , mess food especially for non odisha students are unmanageable but as mess fees needn't to be paid prior(weekly) its manageable .
less students as less branches it may feel too calm inside campus but it impacts the fests as less students are attending it affects the grandeur of the event.

Internships Opportunities:

there are interenship oppurtunities offered on fifth and sixth semester , a student got offered for 1.4 lakh per month, you need to maintain good cgpa and work hard to get internships its harder than placements

Collage Review of IIIT

Likes

The good thing about this collage is that it has a bit lower fee and with that the quality of the campus life also get degraded
I rarely engage in with the collage , because it is mostly the local odia people and in odia language.
Here comes the worst part of the collage , the faculty is barely qualified most of them are doing there Phd from here only

Dislikes

Here there is a lot of reservation 50% seats are reserved for the local students and then the remaing will also have the reservation for girls , ST
The profs are not good at teaching nither they have any qualification at all . Neither they teach .
Dirty mess food , I think I should not even call it food. There isnt any hygine and maintainance .

Internships Opportunities:

The internship opportunities are very limited , not even the smartest students can get it . Very Very limited number of companies visit here . Not every company offer internship at our collage. Only the low grade companies come to this campus for the placement drive and handfull for internship. The name of the companies are TCS , Infosys , Tiger software , Wipro , Dell etc .

teachers, staff and faculties of both subjects and labs are good and professional.
there are several societies run by student, all by themselves like cultural society, tech society, etc.
student together celebrate many cultural events like diwali, holi, etc.

Dislikes

syllabus and teaching technique is very old fashioned
campus area is very small, only 26 acre of land can be used
campus is located in the outskirts of bhubaneswar, far off from the main city

Internships Opportunities:

companies like oracle, zscaler, imformatica, etc visit and provide placement and internship. internship is provided with stipend of 30-50 thousands. roles like software engineering, web developer, cloud engineer, cybersecurity analyst, are common. non-IT placement for etc/eee students are very few.

Campus is very pleasant and have enough freedom .
Faculty are highly qualified in iits and nits .

Dislikes

Need to improve infrastructure and neatness of the campus.
Mess food should be better and the menu should be modified.

Internships Opportunities:

DE Shaw and Dell offers software developers and pays stipend. The stipend is for 3months and we need to work for 3months in the summer time. The projects are related to app development and some electronics and electrical inventions.

Good campus full of trees and plants which is very attractive
The teachers are very good. The are very supporting.
The seniors are also very good they are very helpful in academics

Dislikes

The campus is very compact but you can find everything in it
Mess food is not that good. But we will get several types of food

Internship opportunities are very good in our college internship companies come to collage take students form collagr recently a internship came which is offering 2 l oer month for 3 months after that getting job will be easy

IIIT Bhubaneswar is one of the best options for pursuing a CSE degree. NIRF 2021 has ranked the institute 190 for B.Tech.

It offers good infrastructural facilities to students. The whole campus is wifi enabled. The coding culture is pretty active on campus. The institute organizes a tech-cult fest called Advaita.

IIIT Bhubaneswar Placement 2020 had the highest CTC of INR 44 LPA. Microsoft and Infosys were the major recruiters in the placement.

Yes, NIRF has ranked IIIT Bhubaneshwar at 201^st position out of 300 colleges in India. It has been ranked for B.Tech. by NIRF in 2022. It is 11 places lesser than the ranking got in 2021. The 2021 ranking was 190^th position.
