Placement Experience:

There are internship opportunities at the starting of 3rd year and job opportunities at the starting or 4th year. This year many companies visited the campus which include DE Shaw, Flipkart, Oracle, TCS, VISA(for summer internship drive), and various start-ups like Sarvam AI and many more. Highest package was 56.8LPA by DE Shaw. Flipkart took a total of 20 candidates (12 were selected for 34.5LPA and 8 for internship opportunities). Average package going around 9LPA. TCS mass recruited candidates for around 4 LPA, and ORACLE has been consistent at taking candidates for 24 to 25 LPA. Percentage of Students placed for CSE branch is 90. Many students opt for M Tech courses via GATE exam after getting their degree.

Not just for academics but even for placements our college is best in Orissa.

Placement Experience:

Amazon, Google, Wipro, HCL Tech and many such which has been around for a while in the tech business and has built tech for many overseas companies too are the ones which have already started coming. I am in my final year and around 40% students have already been recruited and I hope before this semester ends, i too get placements.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

IIIT Bhubaneswar is one of the best options for pursuing a CSE degree. NIRF 2021 has ranked the institute 190 for B.Tech.

It offers good infrastructural facilities to students. The whole campus is wifi enabled. The coding culture is pretty active on campus. The institute organizes a tech-cult fest called Advaita.

IIIT Bhubaneswar Placement 2020 had the highest CTC of INR 44 LPA. Microsoft and Infosys were the major recruiters in the placement.

Why are placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar so pathetic as compared to IIIT Guwahati?

There are several reasons why the placements of IIIT Bhubaneswar do not hike to the level of IIIT Guwahati. One of my friends is among the recent alumni of the institute and has a better idea about the same. Here is what he has to say.

While IIIT Guwahati is an institute of National Importance, IIIT Bhubaneswar is not.
IIIT Guwahati usually also has the provision of industry support from various major companies because of the status of national importance it has. It also comes under MHRD, GOI directly. IIIT Bhubaneswar doesn’t enjoy the same privilege.
IIIT Guwahati receives funds and support directly from the central government, unlike IIIT Bhubaneswar.
IIIT Guwahati was first established by MHRD and was among the few newer IIITs to have their permanent campus quite early.
The peer group at IIIT Guwahati is better due to the higher cut-off as compared to IIIT Bhubaneswar.

These are the reasons behind the poor placement record of IIIT Bhubaneswar.

The highest placement package offered to one of the students of IIIT Bhubaneshwar was 39 lacs per year. This package is offered by Media.Net. Instead this, the Media.net. also offers stipend of 1 lac to one of the interns.
