IILM BBA International Business FAQs
Ques. How is this different from a general BBA?
Ans. International Business adds focused study of global trade, export and import procedures, foreign exchange, international marketing and cross-cultural management. A general BBA stays broad, while this specialisation prepares students specifically for cross-border business and trade roles. The core management subjects remain, but electives and projects centre on global markets, so graduates understand how companies buy, sell and operate across different countries and regulatory systems. For students who already know they want a career linked to imports, exports or multinational firms, the focused version offers a head start over a broad general degree.
Ques. What is the duration and total fee?
Ans. The programme runs four years under the honours structure and totals INR 10,00,000 in tuition, payable in annual instalments. Hostel charges are billed separately for students who opt for campus accommodation. The four-year format includes a final-year research component, giving graduates an honours qualification that strengthens both postgraduate applications and entry into competitive management roles after the degree.
Ques. Which careers does the course lead to?
Ans. Graduates work in export and import firms, logistics and supply chain, international sales and marketing, trade finance support and global operations teams. Many later pursue an MBA to move into managerial and strategy roles in multinational companies. The international orientation is especially useful for those who want to work with global brands, trading houses or companies expanding into foreign markets where cross-border knowledge is essential.
Ques. Are global exposure opportunities included?
Ans. The curriculum emphasises international case studies, live projects and industry interaction. Students build skills in trade documentation, currency markets and cross-cultural communication, which are essential for roles in companies that operate across borders. These applied components, combined with internships, give students a practical understanding of how global business actually works, beyond the theory covered in lectures and textbooks. The honours research component in the final year then lets students explore a specific trade or market topic in depth, producing work that strengthens both job and postgraduate applications.
Ques. What scholarships can lower the fee?
Ans. The IILM Merit Scholarship can waive a substantial part of tuition for strong academic records. Early bird concessions reward timely applicants, sports and cultural awards recognise achievers, and education loan support is available for eligible families. Because the waivers are tied to performance, students who maintain good results through the programme are generally well positioned to keep their concessions across the four-year course.
Ques. Is CUET-UG needed for admission?
Ans. No. Admission relies mainly on Class 12 merit and a personal interview. A CUET-UG score can support the application and scholarship review, but it is not mandatory for entry into the four-year International Business programme. Applicants who did not take CUET-UG can apply on merit, submit their board results and attend the interview, where interest in global business and communication skills are assessed by the faculty panel. Candidates who can speak about why international business appeals to them, and show awareness of trade and current global events, tend to stand out in the interview more than those who simply recite their academic record.
