VISA & Work Study

VISA

Overview

International students requiring a CAS and a Student Visa will find detailed student immigration information. The information is intended for new students joining Queen Mary University, while current students should consult the Immigration pages and contact the Student Enquiry Centre.

Guidance and Support

Students are encouraged to visit the Advice and Counselling Service pages and attend webinars for guidance on the Student Route application process and financial requirements.

CAS Request and Process

A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is required to apply for a Student visa. To request a CAS, students must have an unconditional offer, paid any required deposit, and meet specific criteria. Verification of CAS details is crucial before issuance.

Financial and Documentation Requirements

Students must meet UKVI financial requirements and provide necessary qualifications, ATAS certificates (if applicable), and TB tests. It is essential to adhere to the 28-day rule for maintenance funds.

Visa Application Refusals

If a visa application is refused, students should send the refusal letter to cas-admissions@qmul.ac.uk and consult the Advice and Counselling Service guide for further steps. A second CAS will be issued only with proof of valid documentation.

Special Cases

For studying a second Master's in the UK, students can either make the visa application in the UK with confirmation from the current institution or return home to apply and provide evidence of their return.
