How Can Indian Students Pay for Middlesex University?

Before starting their studies, international students are usually required to make several payments to the university. These include:

  • Tuition fee deposit (paid after accepting the offer)
  • Remaining tuition fees
  • Accommodation payments (if living in university housing)

The deposit paid initially is deducted from the total tuition fee amount. For example, if a student’s annual tuition fee is £14,500 and they pay a £7,500 deposit, the remaining amount to be paid later will be £7,000.

Payment Methods

Indian students can use either of the following methods to pay for course fees or accommodation fees at Middlesex University:

  • Applicant Portal (Credit or Debit Card): Students can pay fees directly through the university’s online Applicant Portal using a debit or credit card.
  • Convera GlobalPay for Students: MDX London partners with Convera GlobalPay, an international payment platform that allows students to pay fees in their local currency.
  • TransferMate: Payment platform used by the university, enabling students to pay using Bank transfers, Local payment systems, or Alternative payment methods (APMs)
  • Alternative payment methods (APMs): Through Convera’s payment system, the university supports several e-wallet and online banking options, including Indian Net Banking services.

Middlesex University Application Fee

Middlesex University charges no application fee for Indian applicants applying for postgraduate programs. Undergraduate applicants via UCAS must pay an application fee of £28.95 (₹3,570). The application fee is for 2026 entry only, which means you pay £28.95 once to apply to up to five universities or courses through UCAS.

Private Accommodation Near the Middlesex University London Campus

Students seeking greater independence can rent private housing around Hendon, the area where the university is located. Rent varies depending on location, property type, and amenities.

Average Monthly Rent for Shared Accommodation:

Area Approx. Monthly Rent
Hendon £600 (₹73,670)
Camden (Central London) £900 (₹1.10 lakhs)
Brent £700 (₹86,300)

Utilities, broadband, and other bills may not always be included in the rent. Since London’s rental market is competitive, students are advised to begin their housing search early. Some private providers also operate student halls, although these typically cost more than university accommodation. More information can be found on student accommodation in UK.

Student Visa Fees

International students must obtain a UK Student Visa before starting their studies. Charges associated with a student visa are:

Application Type Fee
Applying from outside the UK £490 (₹60,410)
Applying from within the UK £490 (₹60,410)

This fee is paid during the visa application process, either online or through a visa application centre.

Financial Requirements for a UK Student Visa

To qualify for a student visa, applicants must show proof of sufficient funds:

  • Tuition fees for one academic year
  • Living expenses of £1,483 per month for up to 9 months (total £13,347)
  • £845 (₹1.04 lakhs) per month for each dependent accompanying the student

Additional requirements include maintaining the funds in a bank account for at least 28 consecutive days and submitting a bank statement issued within one month of the visa application. If students are using education loans or sponsorship, official documentation must be provided. Those who have already lived in the UK for more than 12 months may not need to demonstrate tuition funds. Visit the financial requirements for UK student visa to know more.

Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

International students are also required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge as part of their visa process:

  • £776 (₹95,670) per year for most students
  • £388 (₹47,840) for stays shorter than six months

This charge also applies to any dependents accompanying the student and provides access to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

Middlesex University Scholarships

Middlesex University offers several merit-based scholarships and bursaries for international students, ranging from £2,000 to £5,000 as tuition fee discounts. Some external awards, like the Chevening Scholarship, may cover full postgraduate tuition and additional expenses. Students usually need to secure an admission offer before applying for these awards. For detailed eligibility criteria, application steps, and scholarship options, visit Middlesex University scholarships for international students.

Middlesex University offers a relatively affordable study option in London for Indian students, with tuition fees ranging from £17,200 to £21,300 per year and accommodation costs starting around £204 per week in university halls or £600 per month in nearby areas like Hendon. Students must also budget for additional costs such as the £490 UK Student Visa fee, £13,347 in required living funds, and the £776 annual Immigration Health Surcharge.

Overall, the key deciding factor for Indian students is the balance between London’s global exposure and manageable education costs, supported by scholarships of £2,000-£5,000 that help reduce the overall financial burden.

  • In terms of course curriculum was mixed easy and hard there few subjects that were very hard and tough to cope with, but professors really helped to understand.
  • The most Positive thing about the university is that it's multicultural, and professors are really helpful; they will give separate time apart from lectures to interact with you one on one and the 24/7 library facility is the best. AND THE COURSE duration is the best part wher i got proper time to explore the opportunities sheet compilation of my 1-year curriculum and 1-year industrial training these is the best parts.
  • In terms of negative i can say middlesex university is more focused on practicals and assignments. Initially back home, people will suffer to cope up with the assignments and practical structure
  • There are typically two classes in a day, which would be either start in afternoon and ends somewhere around 8 or 9 in the evening.
  • The average number of the students in a class would be somewhere around 50 to 60 people max to max and in some of the sections It would be around 30 to 40 because the section is going to be mixed for two groups, something like data science or computer science if they merge the class, it would be around 40 to 50. If not, it is 30 to 40 max.
  • So when I joined, the course, the most of the class is mainly from India and the strength is aroung 35 and least 18 people where Indians

Fees

  • Course fee is- 16500 GBP
  • Hostel fee Is around -165 GBP per week
  • Transportation is- 120 GBP per month, and we can travel all around london mostly
  • Fee Charged is Semester wise For the 1st semester fee initially, you need to pay from India to get an UNCONDITIONAL OFFER WHICH IS 50 per cent of the fee.
  • And second sem fee you need to pay by the end of the first sem.
  • And mainly If you see monthly expenses like rent are around 650 pounds. Because i use to stay in university accommodation. And the mobile bill is 15 pounds, groceries are around 50 pounds, and transportation is 120 pounds. Overall, it costs around 750 to 800 pounds monthly, but if I get the part-time job, I will get around 900 pounds so it will be ok for me to manage things there.

  • It was not very difficult but not so easy for me. And it was both a theoretical and practical approach, as we had classes for 6 months and then a practical dissertation for 6 months. I had classes for 3 days a week, wed, thus, and fri. There were a total of 26 students in the class from India, Pakistan and Nigeria. I guess there were around 15-17 students from India in my class.

Fees

  • The total fees were 15500 pounds a year. I don't remember the exact deposit amount but it must be 3000 or 5000 and then 50 % until January and the remainder until May. I took the January intake in 2023.
  • I paid 350 pounds for rent, 100 pounds for transportation, 150 pounds for food and groceries, and 100 pounds for other things such as eating out or entertainment.

My syllabus was completely up to date. They keep holding seminars and sessions for latest inventions in technology including AI as well. The syllabus was completely relevant with my course. I was given a residential trip experience where we were taken to Liverpool for a week. This experience was the best thing about Middlesex University for me (personally), since I gained too much knowledge and experience during this whole trip which had been very carefully planned by my respected professor.

Fees

16800 pounds was my fee as an international student, out of which 2000 pounds was reduced as scholarship.

Yes, Professor calls a very senior employee from Any Company for sessions or classes on Industrial Exposure. There is a separate module of it. Courses are very updated. I pursued Masters in Data Science and an Amazon employee came to tell about his experience in our class. You can ask for research or phd websites from your professors Example:- www.jobs.ac.uk

I think it's pretty good, it has a lot of variety in techniques and areas of graphics. It's also very practical, so we learn by doing works that could also help build our port.folio. A lot of studio time which is very useful for the students.

Fees

The fees were to be paid in two times, I didn't have any other charges for materials or anything, just for housing. The scholarship was discounted on the second half of the payment of my fees.

Because it was interesting and helps me in my future career. The course was very helpful in terms of knowledge and practice as we have to be work experience as a part of the course. It also makes me aware of the way the society view childhood. A lot of policies were established after some serious cases.

Fees

I've applied England student finance so I didn't pay university anything. But it was still 9,000 per year.
