- I liked that my course was a nice split between theory and practice.
- I was also assessed in different ways- presentations, work experience, research, etc. It wasn’t just exams.
Dislikes
- One thing I disliked was student engagement.
- Not a lot of students engaged in the course fully. I would have loved if students got involved and we had more discussions about various topics.
- I used online websites and went in person later to check accommodations. In my first year, I paid £142 per week. For the next 2 years, I lived in a different student accommodation and paid £120 per week.
Likes
- I had classmates from all over — different countries, different cultures — and honestly, it really opened up how I looked at things. Just hearing their views made me think differently.
- Supportive teaching staff and faculties.
- The classrooms were pretty modern — fully digital, with smartboards, projectors, and fast internet. Everything you needed was right there.
Dislikes
- Placement and internship support are quite limited. The university doesn’t offer guaranteed opportunities, so most of it depends on your skills and how much effort you’re willing to put in. Finding a job often comes down to being proactive and sometimes, timing plays a role too.
- Studio accommodations offered by the college can be quite costly. With living expenses going up, managing day-to-day life as a student isn’t easy. Part-time jobs do help but it can take some time to find one. Still, if you plan things well balancing up to 20 hours of work with studies is manageable.
- I went for off-campus accommodation during my MBA. Found it through SpareRoom mostly, and also joined a couple of WhatsApp and Facebook groups where students shared available rooms or looked for flatmates. That actually helped a lot—it's how I found the place I ended up living in.
- MY Rent was around £350 a month and that covered everything: WiFi, heating, electricity, water, all the basics. The house was furnished and I shared it with other students. The house where I lived was also inhabited by people form others countries - Nigerians, British, Chinese, and Indians—which kept costs manageable and made it feel less lonely too.
- One big challenge? Finding something before reaching the UK. A lot of landlords wanted in-person viewings, and not all online listings were reliable. To avoid stress, I actually booked college accommodation for the first month. Once I was in Leeds, I could look around and get a proper feel for the areas before choosing a long-term place.
- The house I picked later was about 15–20 minutes from the City Campus by bus, not too bad. A lot of Indian students stay in areas like Hyde Park, Headingley, and Burley. They're cheaper and filled with students so it’s easier to settle in.
- One thing I’d say is try not to book long-term accommodation just from looking online. Prices are often high and photos don’t always match reality. If you can talk to someone already living there or just stay somewhere temporary first, then find something better once you're there. Also always double-check listings and never pay anything upfront without seeing the place or verifying the landlord.

- My monthly rent was 500 GBP. It included electricity and gas bills. The property offered a personal room with a single bed, almirah, study table, shared bathroom, kitchen and living room.
- The only challenge was to find a guarantor for myself. My letting agent asked me to pay 6 months' rent upfront or find someone who can be my guarantor so that I don’t miss out on any rent payments. I chose to pay 6 months of rent upfront.
- Future students should use apps like SpareRoom to find accommodation; they can also visit real estate agent’s offices. But the best is online apps. Make sure to know what is being promised before finalising any property and ensure there are no hidden charges.
- My accommodation was 15 mins away by walk from my campus. Most Indian students either stay in Trinity Accommodation hall or near hyde park in private houses.

- Quality Teaching and Education: The teaching methods consisted of lectures and seminars, both of which were really engaging and informative. The modules under my course were absolutely simulating both in terms of academic richness and vocational perspective.
- Research Driven Atmosphere: Most instructors heavily relied on current trends and evidence-based practices when it came to teaching and assignments, it really helped me to skim recent scientific literature and critically appraise them which is transferable for my professional journey.
- Infrastructure: My university and school of sport (Carnegie School of Sport) ranks within Top 5 sports school when it comes to research contribution mainly due its state of the art infrastructure which consists of highly equipped labs for practical sessions and aesthetically pleasing lecture halls with great facilities like 24/7 wifi access, access to various scientific journals both available online and offline respectively.

- High Tuition fees: Although compared to different universities for the same course, the tuition fees is usually higher but still tuition fees along with high accommodation costing is something that is really an issue to think about.
- Placements: Most universities in the UK, like mine, don't guarantee you with placements, even though we pay such a high amount of tuition fees, but landing a Job is fairly on one's skills, hard work and luck.
- Scholarships: However, I have been a top student with high grades in my bachelors additionally with my masters where I had received distinction and Dean's prize for Academic Excellence there are far less options for me to secure any. scholarships/funding for my PhD which really sucks.
- I found my accommodation through a recommendation made by a college senior who has lived their previously when she was a student at my University.
- My monthly rent inclusive of all bills was 149 GBP/Week or 630 GBP/month, I did not face any challenges finding an accommodation.. I booked it in June 2023 after I received my. CAS letter.
- It was 15 mins (1mi) away from my City campus where 45% of classes were held and 35mins walking (2.5mi) 15 mins from buses; from my accommodation.
- To be honest, my accommodation had a lot of Indian students too, but most of them live in Headingley, Woodhouse, Hyde park areas with house share facilities.

- Again monthly rent depends on your accommodation and various external factors. My rent currently is £450 per month.
- For getting an accommodation it depends on your preferences. If you want to stay close to the uni, probably on uni campus it will be more expensive but convenient. If you do not mind staying away from uni you can get great houses for cheap but you will spend a bit more on travel. My current accommodation is around 4-5 kms from my uni.

I chose Leeds Beckett because it has world-class sports facilities. And my experience at the university was amazing. I was able to develop academically and personally.

- Support from the staff is great and the course structure is good as well. There were no cons. The faculty's guidance on how to complete your projects really helped the international students as the pattern is new to us.
The reason for choosing this country was it is still closer to India in terms of travel time. Course structure is good and it really helped in my career. Got a job along with my course in my field.

- I liked the course structure overall. The HOD of the department was someone whom I was following since a very long time, and I was very inspired by his concepts, theories and his teaching method as well. And that was the main reason I chose leeds beckett. The HOD was Rudiger Theilmann, once I took the admission, I developed a bond with Rudiger as well during my course and found out that I was right about his teaching methods. I learnt a lot from him specifically while I was there, Infact am still learning from him after graduating as well. If someone is looking for PR and strategic communications course I highly recommend Leeds beckett
- As I mentioned earlier, it was a great experience I had in Leeds Beckett, the curriculum was totally updated with the industry standard, we had a lot of industrial exposures as well as research opportunities as well. We worked with UKs biggest PR agency PRCA and CIPR. We also collaborated with sheffield hallam university for industry presentations during our course.
Dislikes
- Nothing as such, except that the city campus didn't have a ground.
Overall experience was great. I really recommend everyone to at least get one experience studying abroad as it will be a lifetime experience as well. You will learn so much about life in general, as you will be working with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds you will be learning so much about those different cultural and ethnic backgrounds as well. You will make new friends from all over the world. You will also get a new perspective about yourself about your life once you took this opportunity of studying abroad
My admission was in pending with other universities due to a lack of LORs. but in LBU I got admission without LOR so I have chosen it.
I liked thia University as it in tier 2 University. I was impressed by its world ranking (100-300) which was great in my budget. It has great footprint in world market.
