University of Reading (UoR) Courses and Fees 2025

• I gained an in-depth understanding of international legal responses with a focus on resolving contemporary global challenges within an international learning environment. I also gained invaluable insights from research-active academics in the field offering practical and interdisciplinary insights.
• Some of my study topics included refugee law, the law of armed conflict, the use of military force, international organisations and global governance.

• It cost me around 15 lakhs for tuition fees. I had also opted for on-campus accommodation, which was charged. The accommodation included catering for almost one full year, barring the last 4 weeks or so. The tuition fee was charged at the beginning; however, the accommodation rent could be paid on a weekly/monthly basis. Reading town has most of the things needed for regular day-to-day use.

• There are several opportunities but having an internship and required skills is crucial to stand out. Around 30% will easily find a job before they leave and by 6 months, a decent amount of 45-50% will end up securing a job. It takes time but surely people do get a full-time job. Students apply through graduate stream. Networking on LinkedIn. On average, the pay would be more than 25,000-30,000 GBP. Students use LinkedIn career workshop opportunities at college.
• Fairs and workshops at college held now and then help students to get connections. Besides that, department talks and events also help in this regard. Networking worked quite well for students. One can also access the college career advice team, and work on the CV. refinement and also give mock interviews.

• The curriculum was not necessarily difficulty but i would say that it is very different from education system in India when it comes to assessment. Most of my subjects had reports, presentations and field work as assignment instead of physical exams. So they had a mix of theory and practical element attached to it. 
• Positive thing was that the teachers are open minded and gives you different perspective to think about the subject but the negative part is lack of assistance from them.

• The following were covered by my scholarship . 

  1. My course fees was 25800 british pounds.
  2. My room rent for the entire year was 10,600 British pounds.
  3. For Transportation, one can take an all day bus pass for 3.5 pounds. Rest there were cabs and trains as well. Like from Reading to London, the train fare was 20 to 25 pounds.

• The room rent was paid in 4 installments. I used to get my allowance in four installment as well so that's how I used to pay that. 

• The course was mix of both but the assignments and exams were open book and more of practical rather than theoretical exams.
• The most positive aspect is the course can be taken by even someone who is from different background as it taught right from the basics.
• The negative aspect could be that the course sometimes becomes boring if you already know the things and everyone is repeating the same thing.
• 35-50 as different subjects had different strength as common subject in different courses were taught together.
• 70% were Indian.
   

• I was a scholarship student and did not pay any fees, but there was a friend of mine who paid fees in installments.
• The staff was very helpful and would make exceptions just in case some financial crises come up.
• The monthly rent differed from 400 pound to 1200 pounds depending on the time of room you take.
• There were meal plans as well with 3 meals per week to all meals and the cost varied(I did not opt as I love cooking).
• The monthly expenses were 150 pounds a month apart from rent for the groceries, travel and basic daily needs.
   

Could have done the same remotely from India. Everything is online anyways. Won't make much of a difference even if someone is traveling to the UK.

My opinion on the course curriculum and academics was that it was fast paced and educational. I found that the teachings of the program easily translated to real life work experiences.

The total tuition fees for my program were 17000 pounds in UK currency. This excluded housing and additional amenities that were required to be on campus and enrolled into the program.

Very broad and too much content. The whole course can be very stressful and overwhelming. However, learning about the types of animals you are interested in is the best part because it was the reason you came.

Fees are normal and similar to other universities, however, the loans given are too small. I am at reading and our house prices are ridiculously high but our loan doesn't cover it as we don't live in the London area.
