The institution is featured in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for Art and Design, giving it recognised specialist standing among UK higher education providers.

The university offers BA, BSc, MA and MSc postgraduate degrees, alongside a specialist MBA. Instruction is fully English medium. Popular routes for Indian applicants include MSc Computer Science, MSc Cyber Security, MSc Software Engineering, and MA Design Management, matching the intake pattern seen across other universities in the UK. Class 12 aggregates of 60 percent and bachelor equivalents of 55 percent (UK 2:2) meet the standard academic bar. Applications flow through UCAS for undergraduate courses and the direct portal for postgraduate entries.

  • Ranking: Featured in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for Art and Design
  • Acceptance rate: approximately 85 to 90 percent (estimated figure)
  • Intakes: September (primary), plus November, February, and May
  • PG tuition 2026-27: £18,000 to £24,034 (INR 23.04 lakh to INR 30.76 lakh)

  • Automatic scholarship: £3,500 (INR 4.48 lakh) per year for eligible international applicants

Ravensbourne has held steady inside UK national and subject league tables since it gained full university status in 2018, with its subject-level QS Art and Design listing anchoring its reputation. It attracts students who prefer a smaller specialist cohort with direct industry links over the scale of large research universities. Its MBA appears among the lower-cost MBA options in the UK priced under £20,000 for the full programme.

Tuition for the 2026-27 cycle stays below Russell Group averages, with undergraduate programmes at £17,000 per year and postgraduate programmes running between £18,000 and £24,034 (INR 23.04 lakh to INR 30.76 lakh). The automatic international scholarship of £3,500 lands on all eligible offers without a separate application step. Graduates qualify for the two-year UK Graduate Route visa.

Ravensbourne University London Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

Requirements for Indian applicants split into academic, English proficiency, and portfolio bars, with the standard threshold pitched at UK 2:2 for postgraduate entry.

Ravensbourne University London PG Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

According to Ravensbourne’s country-specific requirements for India, the PG entry checklist covers four items.

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 55 percent aggregate (UK 2:2 equivalent) from a recognised Indian university.
  • English proficiency: IELTS Academic UKVI 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each band, or TOEFL iBT 72 (0-120 legacy scale), or PTE Academic UKVI 59, or Ravensbourne English Language Test 7.
  • Standardised tests: GRE and GMAT are not required for any MSc programme.
  • Portfolio: mandatory only for MA Design Management, MA Illustration, and other creative pathways.

Ravensbourne University London UG Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

Undergraduate applicants clear a lower academic bar, though creative BA programmes still require a portfolio submission.

  • Academic: Class 12 aggregate of 60 percent from CBSE, ICSE, or a recognised Indian state board.
  • English proficiency: IELTS Academic UKVI 5.5 overall with 5.5 in each band, or PTE Academic UKVI 59, or Ravensbourne test 6. Class 12 English at 60 percent within four years qualifies for the IELTS waiver.

Key insight: Indian PG applicants who studied their bachelor’s entirely in English can request an IELTS waiver by submitting a Medium of Instruction letter issued within the last seven years, saving the test slot and cost.

Ravensbourne University London Acceptance Rate 2027

Ravensbourne University London does not publish an official acceptance rate, but its access-oriented recruitment model and small applicant pool point to a comparatively high offer rate.

The working estimate sits at around 85 to 90 percent (estimated figure), placing Ravensbourne among the more accessible UK institutions for Indian students who meet the academic and English thresholds. Actual offer rates vary by programme; creative BA and MA courses that require portfolios tend to have a stricter conversion than open-entry MSc technology programmes.

Reality check: A high headline acceptance rate does not mean automatic entry. Indian applicants with borderline transcripts or missing portfolio items still receive rejections; the rate reflects strong applicants clearing a moderate bar, not a guaranteed offer.

Ravensbourne University London Campus, Facilities and Student Life

Ravensbourne runs a single purpose-built campus on the Greenwich Peninsula in London’s Design District, opened in 2010 and designed by Farshid Moussavi. The building sits next to The O2 arena, with North Greenwich Underground station a two-minute walk away and central London reachable in around 15 minutes on the Jubilee line.

  • Location and transport: Greenwich Peninsula, Design District, adjacent to North Greenwich tube on the Jubilee line and Thames Clipper river bus routes.
  • Housing: University-partnered halls in Greenwich and Deptford at £180 to £280 per week; guaranteed accommodation is not offered but the housing team supports private-market bookings.
  • Specialist facilities: broadcast studios, motion capture suites, colour grading rooms, garment-tech lab, immersive VR spaces, and shared prototyping workshops open to all enrolled students.
  • Indian student community: active South Asian Society, cricket and Bollywood-dance groups, and regular Diwali and Holi events in collaboration with neighbouring Ravensbourne and Greenwich institutions.

What Indian students say: The Greenwich Peninsula location gets flagged as safer and cheaper than central London for daily living. Students note the small campus makes it easy to know tutors on first-name terms. The main gap called out is limited on-site food options, with most students commuting to the Greenwich or Deptford markets.

Ravensbourne University London Rankings 2027

Ravensbourne University London is a specialist creative and technology institution and does not appear in the main tables of the QS World University Rankings 2027, Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, or US News Best Global Universities 2025-26. Its ranking presence sits within subject and UK-focused league tables covering creative arts and applied technology.

Ravensbourne is featured in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for Art and Design and appears in the Complete University Guide UK 2026 national league table, where it is measured against other UK institutions on entry standards, student satisfaction, and graduate outcomes.

Key insight: For Indian applicants, Ravensbourne’s specialist reputation and QS subject listing carry more weight with creative and technology employers than a headline world-table position. UK Home Office recognition and Graduate Route eligibility depend on university status, which Ravensbourne holds outright.

Ravensbourne University London Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

Ravensbourne University London does not publish a formal placement rate or median starting salary for each cohort. Career outcomes for Indian graduates depend on programme choice, portfolio strength, and use of the two-year post-study work visa.

  • Placement rate: not officially disclosed by the university.
  • Median starting salary: UK creative and technology sector graduate salaries broadly sit between £28,000 and £32,000 per year (INR 35.84 lakh to INR 40.96 lakh) as a market median from UK labour-market data, applied here as a directional benchmark, not a Ravensbourne-specific figure.
  • Hiring sectors: broadcast media, digital design agencies, gaming studios, animation houses, software development firms, cyber security consultancies, and independent creative studios across London.
  • Career support: one-to-one careers advice, industry mentoring, portfolio reviews, and a live-brief programme with employer partners embedded in most course structures.
  • MBA outcomes: the Ravensbourne MBA has a small cohort, and salary outcomes for MBA graduates are not disclosed publicly.

Insider note: London’s creative-tech recruiters value Ravensbourne portfolios and prototypes more than transcripts, so Indian graduates who use the two-year Graduate Route visa to build case-study work and land a first agency or studio role tend to convert into longer skilled-worker sponsorship afterwards.

Ravensbourne University London vs Peer Universities

The natural peer set for Ravensbourne combines specialist creative universities and mid-sized general UK universities with strong design and technology footprints. The table compares annual PG fee bands and institutional shape.

Ravensbourne stands out on price against University of the Arts London for a comparable creative-technology exposure, while its single specialist campus gives closer tutor contact than the larger multidisciplinary University of Greenwich next door. Falmouth remains the peer of choice for applicants seeking a rural creative environment rather than a London-based one.

Ravensbourne University London suits Indian students seeking a compact, industry-linked degree in creative technology, digital design, or applied computing at a central London address. The total three-year investment for a BA lands near INR 65 lakh, sitting well below Russell Group averages while offering full UK degree recognition and post-study work eligibility.

Indian graduates gain direct access to teaching staff, Greenwich’s creative-industry cluster, and automatic scholarships that shrink upfront outlay. The UK Graduate Route visa allows two years of open work after completion, extending career runway inside London’s creative and technology economy for those willing to build a strong portfolio from year one.

Ravensbourne is not the right fit for students who need research-university brand recognition, doctoral supervision in traditional STEM, or a large alumni network across global corporate employers. Applicants seeking those factors should compare University of the Arts London for a broader creative campus or a Russell Group university for research depth.
