Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • The academics & the professors were quite helpful and research-based when i searched during my master's time, and the main reason was london as it had more job opportunities and also the social life was the reason.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

  • Actually, i was not rejected because i had applied to only those above 4 colleges. And firstly i thought of going to US but it was going out of budget so i thought of going to the UK and it was the right decision.

Tips to enhance your application

  • Clearly mention the SOP, why you want this course, and its career prospects; proper recommendation letters would be a good fit for applications. Also good academics would help in building a strong profile as colleges look into the profile

Admission Experience

  • I chose the UK because it was best suited for my course and the language, and also the ranking of my university was good and it was reputed. The location of London also mattered the most, as it is the best city in the world. The job opportunities were ample due to this location. My overall experience was good, as i was there for 5 years of my life.

Class Schedule

7

  • Classes were flexible; mostly 2 days a week were the classes, and it was helpful for the part-time jobs or some other activities. Class timings were 9-5pm. Average strength of the class was around 60 students. 90% of the Indians were in my course. We used to get plenty of time for assignments at home due to the flexible classes.

Faculty

8

  • Faculty members were very hospitable; they welcomed us with a nice, warm induction leading to a nice welcome. Their approach was quite professional towards the students, which made a good environment to study. Yes, they did help us to get part-time and full-time jobs with their references and guidelines on no fewer than three occasions.

Campus Life

10

  • Campus was very nice; we had like multiple campuses in town, mainly around 10-12 campuses, which included the library, which was the best, which had many facilities such as laptop loans, book loans, sports and medical help. We also had many educational and cultural fairs for networking too, where we used to brainstorm our ideas.

Part Time Jobs

  • The process to apply for the part-time job is easy; it's online. My first salary was around 9 GBP per hour and it increases every year according to the minimum wage rule. It is easy to get a job, as it is not that difficult if you are ok to work in every field and environment. But it was quite difficult in covid to survive and get jobs as resources were getting depleted.
  • A lot of part-time jobs are available off campus and on campus, as it is part time so you are only allowed 20 hours a week to work, which should be strictly followed. My first job was as a crew member at a McDonald's restaurant near the campus, which was very flexible with my classes. There were also many teaching assistant and research assistant jobs but they used to be very much less available due to online classes due to covid. Hourly wage varies from job to job.

Placement

1

  • As there are no campus placements available here, we have to search on our own. Yes, the job market is a bit tough to track but you need to be aligned with the industry market to crack the things in the right direction. Average salary range for graduate students started at around 24k GBP, which was the basic salary offered.

Accommodation

Off Campus
7

  • Off campus you can search on many apps or just be in touch with the seniors as they help you find the house. Rightmove is the best app and website that is legit; be ready to pay money to the right agent and person, as it is important you stay legal as your address goes into the database of your insurance number.
