Reason for choosing my college
- Kingston is where our famous, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland, was born and brought up. Kingston University got some peculiar student feedback and is the highest ranked amongst the universities I have applied to. Also, the modules I learned there are unique for software engineers, and it was very helpful. I heard staff are just lovely in answering our queries. Now that I’m graduated, ask me if I regret my choices? Definitely Not.

Reason for Rejection
- Amongst all universities, I got admitted in the US. Because of my visa process, I didn’t land in the US, so I chose the UK as the next best option. Maybe I wasn’t confident enough to prove my ties in India; hence, my visa got rejected. But I’m grateful I landed in the UK.

Tips to enhance your application
- Always have an up-to-date resume, and do proper research on the course you are gonna pursue. This includes understanding different subjects that we will be learning along during your course time. Always do the deed on your own.
Admission Experience
- The UK was my second option. The overall process from university application to visa application is smooth. And it’s London you get everything in London, it’s like living in your very own country. You get multiple options to participate; there are different clubs for music and showcase culture and talent.
Class Schedule

- I had 5 days of class for 2 weeks with 2 weeks of study (Holiday) for one module. Each module is composed of 4 weeks of class and 4 weeks of study. If you procure a placement, then your degree will be as so and so with Placement, which makes your degree a 2-year course. There were 4 Indians in my class. The Class strength is around 30.
Faculty

- There was a faculty whose names are Nadia and Isaac. Isaac taught me two different modules. His teaching technique is as straightforward as his character. Nadia was my project advisor throughout the project; she guided me and gave me input on how I could improvise. Anytime any doubt, they will be available in their office during office hours, where we can book their calendar and get our queries sorted.
Campus Life

- There are four different Campuses of Kingston. The campus had a medical room, library, and sports. There were different clubs where you could sign up and showcase your diverse culture. There is a sports club where you can join in and play cricket during weekends. You will be taken to play in different places in London.
Part Time Jobs
- In the UK, you get paid based on the National Insurance System. While I was doing my part time, it was around 7.7 GBP per hour. Any area you live in will have a high street. Walk in the high street, drop your resume in all shops. Someone will give you a call with a job offer.
P.S. These jobs are not related to the course I was studying. You can get those jobs as well with the help of Indeed.
- Unfortunately, I didn’t work inside the Campus. In the UK, a part-time job is very flexible, and you can work outside the campus. The maximum allowed hours per week is 20 and 40 during holidays. I worked in Subway, and it was awesome. There is not one day that doesn’t go by without missing them. It was full of Bulgarians and was a safer environment.
Placement

- 70% of people get part time and roughly around 30% of people gets full time job. Ultimately, it’s all about the amount of effort put in to procure placement. Take home 1000 GBP on an average per month, around 13k GBP will be package. Indeed, LinkedIn are the platform to look for jobs. The Lowest would be 13k per year, and 24k would be the highest. Again, this range would differ based on the experience you have.
Accommodation

- University helps in getting in touch with seniors who are leaving, which is the easiest form to find an accommodation. I found my accommodation the same way. I got picked up from Heathrow airport and dropped off at my accommodation, so there was no hassle for me. There are many private accommodation near uni as well.
