Course Curriculum

10

  • The difficulty solely depends on the student’s academic performance, for some it might be hard and for some it might be easy. The academic system is more towards practical learning.
  • For me the positive side was that we had a minimum number of subjects in our course and the negative point is that we had no exams.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to 5 universities and was shortlisted in every single university.
  • As I faced no rejection so I can’t describe how did I tackle that situation and what went wrong at the admission process.
  • I received confirmed admission from every university and also received scholarships
    1. Kingston University London
    2. Aston University
    3. Manchester metropolitan University
    4. Greenwich university
    5. Brunel university
  • I chose Kingston university because of its diversity. The location was also favourable as it is near Central London.
  • Steps to get admission are simple, first you need to apply to university then wait for their response. After getting admitted you have to clear one interview for eligibility. Provide the required documentation and results and pay the fees.
  • Kingston university you need to take IELYS and score above 6.5. Eligibility criteria differs according to your course
  • I applied to September 2023 intake as I completed my bachelor’s degree in April. But due to some reason I had to defer my intake to January 2024
  • The procedure takes up to 4-5 Months. It also depends upon time taken by the university to verify your documentation. The visa process also plays a big role in this process. Your home country university must provide the required documents quickly as well

Class Schedule

10

  • In a day there were two classes scheduled, the classes were from Monday to Friday. Timings were 10 am to 6 pm.
  • We had almost 50 students in the class for the lecture.
  • Most of the students were Indian in my course. I’ll say 60% students were Indian

Faculty

10

  • In the classroom there are other students as well which have some subjects in common with us so were like 50-60 students in one classroom. And we had 4 subjects, for each subject we had 2 professors which makes the total of 8 professors. So for 60 students there were 8 professors.
  • The teaching method is satisfactory. The professors have this thought in mind that the students already know the basics so they start going deeper and deeper into the field. Don’t worry they’ll also teach the basics if the students are new to the topic. I believe that’s sufficient to secure an internship or contract based job.
  • Maybe the faculty will help, you’ll never know

Campus Life

10

  • My university has 4 campus in total
    1. Penrhyn road campus for science and technology
    2. Hill campus for commerce
    3. Roehampton vale campus for management
    4. Knight campus for arts
  • For the facilities, the campus has everything, including the library gym prayer rooms, et cetera. in the library also have separate rooms for a group discussion. Does canteen as well so you can sit there take a break and eat something.
  • For the festivals, there are a lot of festivals and events that are Our conductor by the faculty and the university by itself and there are various cultural events organised by the cultural heads of the societies

Part Time Jobs

  • As per I know there are only one or two positions available for this job.
  • I’m not sure about the pay for this position, but the benefits you get is that you might get an extra one year visa and you might get scholarships as well.
  • There are many campus jobs available for students in the warehouse in hospitality in the events management position. The standard pay in UK is currently £11.44 per hour and it may increase or decrease based on your performance.
  • For students the maximum number of hours you can work is 20 hours not exactly 20. It should be less than 20 hours for part-time and if you’re a full-time student you can work more than 40 hours but the legal working hours is 37.40.
  • It’s quite difficult to secure campus part-time job in the university because the eligibility criteria is quite different from the normal jobs
  • If the student is working as a part-time employee and his pay rate is 11.44 then he might earn from £800-£1000 depending how many hours he is getting per week. This totally depends upon the location in which you are based and the amount of vacancy that are released so it’s difficult most of the time. The process to secure a part-time job includes it either walking or online application. If your application is selected then you have to submit a few legal documents in which your BRP your passport and your bank account details and then if you fill up some contract of the company, then you’re done.

Placement

6

  • Not many students secure a full-time job after completion of the course only 30 to 40% student gets full-time job in their designated field.
After graduation for the full-time job a student can expect £24,000-£36,000 as the annual salary based on the opposition and performance bonus.
  • Most of the university don’t have the placement cell but they do organise events in with the companies visit the university and they take student CVs for the future reference, you can also apply to the full-time jobs through online website and if you live in a good location, then you can give a walking interview and secure the position

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • I got my accommodation through the website called “Rightmove”, it’s an online website where you can get flats, studios, houses, apartments and roommates as well.
  • The monthly rent was £500 including the water, light, gas bills. It was a studio so we has separate Hall, kitchen and washroom. We had sofa, dining table, TV, washing machine.
  • Of possible get into the student accommodation which your university provides cause it’s better in terms of quality.
  • My accommodation was not that far from my university, it was 25 min walking distance

Exams

  • Most universities requires IELTS and score up to 6.5 and above. The exams depend upon the course you’re going to choose. It can differ depending on your university too.
  • Statement of purpose, Letter of Recommendation, CV, Transcripts of all the academic years, results of all the semester with no backlogs, VISA, CAS letter, bank statement and government documents
  • Yes I had to go through an interview. The interview is conducted to determine whether you are a deserving candidate or not. The interview is conducted by the university’s board members where you’ll be asked some questions about your course. They’ll ask you reasons for choosing the specific course, university, intake and country as well. If you fail in the interview they might cancel your admission

Fees

  • For my course the tuition fees was £17,500 for full time one year masters degree. This doesn’t include hostel or any other accommodation fees
  • The fees was charged semester wise. But you can pay it once as well. You can also pay it monthly by setting up Monthly Payment Plans.
  • For me the rent was £500 including bills. I spent around £100 on my groceries. I spent £100 on travelling and miscellaneous items got to £50. So total is £750. This are not the exact figures but it’ll be more than this for sure

Scholarship

  • Yes I did receive a scholarship for my course. It’s the “INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP”. The eligibility criteria is simple, you’ve to be an international student
  • The amount for the scholarship was £5000
  • Not that of I know, that if my batch mates received any financial aid in any way
  • Each year only 8 students get this scholarship. By this I mean from the entire intake of that year only 8 students get the scholarship
