Course Curriculum

8

  • The course curriculum was not easy. If you really want to score good you have to work hard for it. There are many activities and small projects that you have to perform during the course and many thing are a mixture of both theoretical and practical.
  • The positive aspects of the course was that the professors were really helpful with everything and they have deep understanding about the topic. Negative aspect I can point out is that the number of students enrolled.
  • There are many students in some courses which are in demand but few in other. The average was around 40 students in my class and almost 45% were Indians.

Admission Experience

  • I applied to 4 universities: University of Nottingham, University of Manchester, University of Cranfield and Kingston University. I got acceptance letter from all these universities. I accepted my offer letter from University of Nottingham as it was the most suitable for me. There are many different options to choose but always keep in mind the living expenses too while paying for the tuition fees. Scholarships are also provided in some universities
  • I accepted my final offer letter from University of Nottingham as one of my college friend was also going to the same university. The admission process was completely online and it was pretty much easy. You can apply directly from the university's website. I took help of my councillor while filling the documents and admission process. The eligibility criteria was pretty much simple and I gave IELTS for this. I guess it is widely accepted everywhere. The overall admission experience was really good and hassle free.
  • I took the September intake and I started applying to universities in December. The offer letter take some time because universities have to shortlist many applications. I got my offer letter in January and I confirmed it in February. I have to pay confirmation fees by 5th March so I paid it and after that I got my confirmation shortly in few days.

Faculty

8

  • The faculty to student ratio was 1:8 in my course. The ratio should be less so that the student can have a great understanding of everything. The teaching content is excellent and the methodology used by the faulty are up to the mark but for landing a secure job student have to develop skills on their own.
  • The professors do provide some network links and some students got that benefit. I admire my E-business faculty the most because his way of explaining the subject and topic is vey different and unique and understandable by all.

Campus Life

8

  • There were in total 3 campuses. The main campus was University park campus which have all the major facilities like a huge lake in which you can enjoy boating with your friends. It have all the sports facilities with a huge Gym.
  • The other campus is the Jubilee Campus in which I studied. There's a huge library and many departments including the Nottingham University Business School known as NUBS.
  • The other campus is Sutton Bonington Campus which was in the countryside mainly for vets and biosciences. The events vary from time to time and there's no such major big event from University of Nottingham.

Part Time Jobs

  • There were only few students that secured Teaching Assistant in our course. The pay range was around 12 GBP and the pay rate is hourly in UK for the TA position. Students can find other part-time job options and the hourly wages are fixed currently as 11.44 GBP. The maximum hours permitted is 20 hours for part-time and 40 hours for full-time. It is not easy to get a part time job in Campus. It's first come first serve so based on that you will get the job.
  • Indian students mostly work on minimum wages set by the Government which is 11.44 GBP per hour. It's not that much easy for students to secure a part-time job while studying because the competition is too much between students and all want a part-time job. The best key tp land a part-time job is referral. If you can arrange or get a referral you can get a job but apart from that it's hard to get a part-time job. You can search and apply through indeed.

Placement

8

  • 94% of the students graduating from our college secure employment within 6 months after course completion. The average salary range is around 45,000 GBP per annum but if you have good skills you can land a high paying job too.
  • Students have to find job through the Job fairs in which many companies come to demonstrate and pitch their company so that the students can apply easily in their most favourable company.
  • People do prefer online job portals for finding jobs. Networking is the key for secure a job. Major companies that hire from my university can be JP Morgan and Chase, McKinsey & company, Deloitte, etc

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • The accommodation was really great and I booked it online, there was a dedicated website for it. I have to book a guarantor before booking the accommodation.
  • The monthly rent was 540 GBP and all the bills were included. Facilities like TV, sofa, Microwave, Fridge, Dining table, Cupboard, Bed, mattress, etc were provided.
  • They do have a common room for activities like Pool table, study room, etc. There were no as such challenges which I faced. I would recommend my accommodation based on my experience.

Exams

  • You can take IELTS or TOEFL for english proficiency. These are the most common exams that students give to enter the university. SOP, LOR and CV all are required while applying for the university.
  • They want to know about your passion and experience so the Statement of purpose should be framed properly. They review your application and the confirmation is sent through email. There was no interview in my application process.

Fees

  • 25,000 GBP was my college fees and 10,000 GBP are the yearly expense which should be considered. Monthly expenses may vary around 800 to 1000 GBP including rent, food and transportation.
  • The fees is collected in 3 parts during the academic year and breakdown is 34% in the first instalment and 33% in the rest. I paid my rent in four parts which vary and depends on the accommodation you get.

Scholarship

  • No I couldn't receive any scholarships as there are lots of applications and I was a bit late to get admission. There are few friends who did get an early bird scholarship of around 7,000 GBP and it was the common scholarship that people get.
  • There are few more scholarships based on different branches and special cases. The average number is around 35 students for getting scholarship each year
