I chose this university as it has the course I wanted, and it one of the recognised university and is cheaper to live in Manchester than any of the London universities or Edinburgh. It is also a very inclusive city, so it was a win-win in my books.

Course Curriculum

9

Course Curriculum is very updated, we had a research trip to Uganda within the course which gave us some hands-on research experience.

Exams

- IELTS (my score was 8.5) and a very good personal statement does the job. - Chronologically the results are 10th - 95%, 12- 96%, UG - 70% - Requirements: I had to submit SOP and maybe LoR for UoM. As with all SoPs, I would suggest showing why you are passionate about this course first, and what makes to lean more towards this university than others that provide the same course. It is always good practice to write something more concrete with examples from personal experiences rather than saying vague buzzwords on your SOP.

Placement

2

There is no placement program for master's course in the uni.

Fees

24,000 GBP

Faculty

8

80% of the faculty are 10/10 and some of them are in fact superstars in their field. I actually enjoyed most lectures I have been to and the bonus is that if you have the time, you can audit other lectures without registering to them.

Campus Life

Good, starting from freshers week, there is a lot of stuff happening around campus all the time. The library is a good place to study if you are more of a group study person. There are also lots of eateries nearby that are open till late for those extra long hours at the library.

Hostel

I was in a private student accommodation, it was around 143 GBP/week. I had one of the three rooms in an apartment-style accommodation. Most student accommodations have a very standard layout with shared kitchen and bathroom unless you specifically apply for an ensuite room.
