What Students Say
Likes
- The availability of resources, opportunity and diversity makes the learning environment enjoyable and easy. Teachers are always keen to help you find your way through feedback support not spoon-feeding everything down the throat which increases the students' creative and analytical thinking capacity.
- Leeds is undoubtedly one of the top-ranking universities in the UK and the world, which is also shown year-on-year by different ranking institutions. Broad and well-constructed research environment, a chance to work with highly qualified and diverse teaching and research fraternity in the world.
Dislikes
- One thing that I don't like about Leeds is the transport facility in here, although the University is quite close to the city centre still the transportation specially intracity sucks. The city is literally full of students which make it happening but really not good many times for a calm person like me.
Leeds is super compact, I'd highly suggest attending each and every event your university does for international students. Highly diverse and its motto of inclusion makes it different and lovable all together.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum has been updated annually through rigorous brainstorming sessions while taking inputs from industry and students to help cope with the new technology and upcoming job prospects.
Faculty
The faculty in Leeds is one of the best in the UK; most of them had worked in the industry so have well-placed for the students to provide hands-on problem-solving skills in the real world. The faculty is well versed in research on new projects, developing products and involving students in it for their overall skill development.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and societies which can interest students depending on their passion and hobbies. There are sports days, always days and annual events which help students to release their stress and bring on their other side of the studies.
Placement
The University supports at each step throughout students study progression preparing him/her for the better opportunities, organizing industrial seminars and visits and resume building activities. The post study prospects are good in the UK as it is always professional deprived state.
Accommodation
The university has its own contracted accommodation facility other than that there are several house shares and flats available to cater for the need of incoming students. Average rental ranges from £90 to £130 depending upon the lifestyle students choose to live in.
Exams
Presentation, Technical interview and Demonstration rounds with Heads and Project Supervisor. I submitted my CV which highlighted skills required specific to the project I will be working on with relevant experience and publications in journals &/ conferences. I was interviewed by the Project supervisor with whom I have to work on the project. I was asked to present my experiences and achievements by a presentation at the start and then the relevant question followed.
Fees
I am working full time and hence need not to pay any fees.
Scholarship
I am a staff so salaried on the University of Leeds payroll.
