Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is a leading public research university located in Singapore and established in 1991. NTU is globally recognised for its strong research output, industry collaborations, and sustainable campus. NTU is known for its strong focus on research, innovation, and industry collaboration. It is consistently ranked among the top 30 universities globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026.

Undergraduate Tuition Fees (Per Year): SGD 40,500 - SGD 45,500 | INR 29 L - 32.6 Lakhs
Graduate Tuition Fees (Per Year): SGD 55,099.50 - SGD 89,380 | INR 39.5 L - 64.1 Lakhs
Available Intakes: August (Primary) | January/November (Selected PG Programs)

Scholarships: INR 7.17 L or full subsidised tuition fee coverage through awards such as the NTU President Award and the Nanyang Global Scholarship.

For Indian students, undergraduate applicants must complete Class 12 with 90% in all subjects. For graduate admissions, a relevant Bachelor's Degree with more than 70% is required. UG applicants apply through the NTU admissions portal, while PG applicants apply via the Graduate Admission System. Required documents typically include academic transcripts, a passport copy, English proficiency scores (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE), a statement of purpose, CV, and letters of recommendation (for PG programs).

Students' Review on Reddit and Collegedunia:

  • Campus culture is wholesome, caring, and supportive among students and faculty. Infrastructure is well-maintained, value-for-money, with necessary facilities and easy access via campus buses.
  • For Indians/internationals, high costs and limited post-study work without bonds make a bachelor's degree risky.
  • Many applicants say that they don’t hear anything for a long time from Nanyang Technological University. Official rejection emails typically come later (often in early May for April interviews).
  • Students say that Interview questions are usually straightforward and standard (academic/professional motivation, challenges faced, why NTU). Some students feel that if they are invited to interview, they will likely be offered some award, even if not the top scholarship.
  • Some applicants with strong results still do not receive scholarship offers, likely due to limited slots and holistic evaluation.
  • The campus is huge and far from the city centre (good for focus, but commuting can be tiring); cultural shocks for exchange students.

Note: As of February 20, 2026, 1 SGD = 71.61 INR has been used for currency conversion throughout the article.

FAQs

Ques: Can Indian students combine an NTU scholarship with an external scholarship or an education loan?

Ans: Students at NTU can take an education loan even if they receive a university scholarship to cover extra expenses. However, they are usually not allowed to hold two full scholarships at the same time, especially if both cover tuition and living costs. Students must declare any external funding during the acceptance process, after which NTU will decide if benefit adjustments or partial co-funding apply.

Ques: Can international students work while studying at NTU?

Ans: Full-time international students holding a valid Student’s Pass are allowed to work up to 16 hours per week during term time without a separate work permit. They may work full-time during scheduled vacation periods, subject to Singapore regulations.

Ques: How will applicants know if they are shortlisted for an interview?

Ans: Shortlisted candidates are notified directly by the respective school or program via email. Interview arrangements, format, and timeline vary by faculty, and not all programs require an interview as part of the selection process.

Campus Life

  • It's only one campus, quite close to the Singapore-Malaysian border, but very far from the city centre.
  • There are libraries, multiple canteens, every possible sports court, including a swimming pool, a hospital and a dental clinic. They are also opening a hotel on campus very soon.
  • There are 100+ clubs and societies in NTU, the most popular ones being the Welfare Service Club, Investment Interactive Club, Rotaract Club of NTU and the Muslim Society. As per festivals, there is the NTUfest. Also, being part of the Hall Council or JCRC is considered a big deal.

Fees

  • 20,000 to 22,000 Singaporean Dollars per semester for a minimum of 3.5 semesters to a maximum of 12 semesters, depending on different courses. Hostel fees vary according to Hall, Room Type (Aircon/ Non-Aircon), and Occupancy (Single / Double Sharing). There are also rooms with attached washrooms, which can be even more expensive. The fees is charged on an annual basis. Monthly expenses include:
    • Food - $300
    • Groceries - $200
    • Laundry - $20
    • Phone Recharge - $30
    • Travel - $50
    • Books - $100
    • Miscellaneous - $50
    • Total - $750
  • All figures are in Singaporean dollars.

  • We do have a lot of events that happen on campus. NTU Fest happens early in the year to help new students get engaged with the happenings on campus. We also have celebrations for major festivals in Singapore, such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, and Eid.
  • Usually there will be events hosted for these, such as student performances, and they are hosted by students entirely. They are quite popular, especially the Diwali celebrations among Indian students and have a lot of activities like Henna, Dance Floors, and even snacks.
  • There are a lot of facilities for sports that are accessible to all students. They are open throughout the day and students are encouraged to use them. They are also well maintained.

Fees

  • Approximately 10 lakhs per semester ($16,750) for tuition fees – it is billed per semester, though for different courses there will be a difference in the semester fee
  • Approximately 2.6 lakhs per year for hostel, being around INR 30,000 ($450) per month, fees change based on room
  • Approximately INR40,000 ($600) per month in expenses, including food and other activities. Can be lower based on how much the student wishes to spend

Campus Life

10

  • NTU has a main campus located in Jurong West, Singapore, which is massive and feels like a mini-city.
  • Library: There are many libraries in each school that are amazing, with plenty of study spaces, books, and even beanbags for relaxing.
  • Sports Facilities: There are gyms, swimming pools, football fields, badminton courts, and even a rock climbing wall.
  • Medical Services: The campus clinic offers basic healthcare, and there’s a counselling centre for mental health support.

Fees

  • All fees are in SGD.The annual breakdown includes tuition fees ($36,000), hostel fees ($4,000), and other fees ($1,000), totalling $41,000.
  • Fees are charged per semester.
  • Additionally, my monthly expenses, including food and transport, amount to $4,000. But this can depend on your dining preferences and how often you go out of campus. This can be lower if you regularly dine in inside the campus food courts, which provide subsidised food.

Overview

NTU is one of the worlds top universities with a proven history of producing graduates with strong technical backgrounds. The programme itself is not as qualitative in nature as other ms supply chain programmes in the world. Personally, i did a bachelors in business in supply chain management so pursuing a masters in science instead was slightly daunting because supply chain as a business is not as difficult to comprehend as supply chain as a science. I desired to be proficient in the nitty-gritty of supply chain management. The university has facilities that most other universities do not possess. There are abundant opportunities available to work on various technological equipment and software.
