Remarks

IIT BHU has a great coding culture, awesome placement stats along with internships and the social life is just amazing. Fests here are just wonderful and there are a lot of extracurricular activities including sports , dance, music, art, drama , photography, animation , film making, etc. Although the academics needs some amendments and professors need to take things seriously and the 75 percent attendance criteria should be abolished.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is very diverse andi think that is important. I m a computer science student currently in my 2nd year. In my first year , I studied physics, biology ,maths 1 and 2 ,humanities and engineering drawing too which have nothing to do with my department but are essential for knowledge of an engineer. I also had C programming , linux and Python courses , data structures wHich are my departmental courses. In every semester, for every subject there are 2 quizzes, 2 or more assignments ,mid term and an end term written examination. Some subjects have labs as well and in labs which are held every week , there are experiments , viva and lab records have to be maintained.

Placement Experience

5

Placements and job opportunities are just awesome in IIT BHU due to its coding culture and 100 year old alumni network, last year 4 students grabbed more than 1 crore package in campus interviews. Overall , placements are very good in my college and in cse and mathematics department , there has been 100 percent placements as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very flexible. There are 3 categories based on annual family income. If income is less than 1 lakh ,fee for a semester is Rs.6750, If income is greater than 1 and less than 5 lakh , fee for a semester is nearly Rs.40000., If income is greater than 5 lakh , fee for a semester is Rs.1,07,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

Sbi loans are always there for completing ur education. There is a central office of sbi in the campus itself which is awesome. KASI 1981 Alumni Foundation (aka KAF81), a charitable company incorporated by the Alumni of IIT-BHU 1981 batch offers scholarship to its students for all years.

Campus Life

3.5

Extracurricular activities are just amazing in my college , there are sports like cricket , hockey , badminton, football , boxing, athletics and what not. Apart from that , there are music clubs , dance club, astronomy club, science and technology council including aeromodelling club , club of programmers , film and media council with photography , film making ,animation. Labs are just okish , they are not meaning for serious work , they are just like a formality which has to be done in order to gain marks.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes , I have opted for hostel and I would have to say that the new hostels which are offered to first yearites have a very good infrastructure , with wifi and LAN , geysers and cleanliness is up to the mark. I would rate it 3.7 out of 5. The old hostels also have the same facilities apart from geysers. The old hostels have a decent infrastructure if not very good. I would rate them 3.5 out of 5.

Alumni/Alumna

IIT BHU has a 100 year old alumni network, alumni of this institute are spread all over the world and they really are helpful. They organize meetings in order to guide students and help them, some of them run scholarships as well for students of this college. We have zero ragging in our campus and seniors are very very helpful. They are always there for us to help us out in academics or coding or anything. They are very helpful.

Admission

To get admission in any IIT , one has to get 75 percent or above in class 12th boards or be in top 20 percentile in class 12 boards. Then he needs to qualify jee mains, then he needs to qualify jee advance , and after that he needs to fill college and branch on jossa counselling , after confirmation of a seat in any of his choices , he can visit the college on a particular date as given by college and get admission.

Faculty

3.5

Let's face it, most of the professors in my college aren't that great , they don't care how much students learn , all they want is silence and mandatory 75 percent attendance in class. They don't teach with any energy or enthusiasm , they just copy the papers they bring with them on green board. Meanwhile a few teachers are just opposite of them, their teaching style is amazing and they are dedicated to teaching and want all of the students to learn.

Placement Experience:

Integral University in the third of engineering asks us to take time out for placements training. Students who haven't done any internships are asked to do one or attend the workshops organized at the university. Thus in the final year, we are fully prepared and companies also are never disappointed as maximum students clear the interviews with ease.

My college has an average placement of 6LPA. Placement eligibility starts from the end of 5th semester, but when I got promoted to 5th semester, placements declined due the the restructuring in placement cell. So our batch missed the opportunity to attend any placements. In year 2022, the highest placement was around 22LPA and in year 2023, it declined to 9 LPA as there was restructuring in team. After getting my degree I will look for carrier opprotunities on my own, as I have not experienced any placement in my college years.
