Remarks

My college isn't a best college I know that. But it is certainly not the worst either. Our syllabus is messed up by Calcutta University and the blame gets on the college. So yeah otherwise my college is great.

Course Curriculum Overview

My college in under the instructions of Calcutta University which has (according to me) a very bad exam system. In 1st year students get around 1.2yrs of time. In 2nd year it becomes to 10-11 months and in 3rd year it's only 6 months. Which is very unfair. And the marks evaluation system is also messed up.

Placement Experience

Well I live in west Bengal so the job opportunity isn't very ideal here. There are many private jobs available but the government jobs are just very very rare. And my college does not have that much placements.

College Events

Everything is celebrated. From Rakhi to Independence day to Naag Panchami. Everything single events are celebrated. It's good but not always though. Who needs a holiday on naag panchami seriously!!.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. The amount is also much lower than other private institutions. Studensts can pay their fees every month or in the end all together. there's no pressure of depositing fees every week or so.

Fees and Financial Aid

There's isn't any loan facility available. But there's some scholarship. For those who scores 70% and up. Which is nearly impossible under Calcutta University anyway. I wasn't able to get that scholarship because of the marks requirement.

Campus Life

The labs are the section where my college shines. I'm a student of humanities but I know and I see the biology and chemistry labs. There are simply very clean and I have heard from my friends that the equipments are also good.

Hostel Facilities

My college don't have any hostel facilities. What can I say more. I'm just goona fill this question's answer to fulfill the 200 charecter requirement. Also my college campus isn't actually that big to have a hostel inside.

Alumni/Alumna

Well I'm a senior student now. And I'm helpful person. So yeah seniors are sometimes helpful. Actually we seniors are very busy with our syllabus and curriculum. So We don't get many chances to interact with juniors and all.

Admission

I applied for college online and submitted by marks of 12th. Then the college administration published a merit list according to the marks. And I was on the list so by this way I wss admitted in the college.

Faculty

My college has truly one of the best faculty in the entire area in English department. Also my college is known for its specialty in Microbiology department. Also the teachers are very friendly and down to earth.

Likes

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

My Experience at Jaipuria to summed it up.

Likes

Quality education and an academically enriching environment. Most importantly, well- versed professors.
Extra- curriculum activities, along with an active sports cell and NCC, and usually various opportunities to participate in Inter-College Competitions.
Well maintained gym with separate timings for girls and boys. The canteen offers a wide variety of foods at an affordable price.

Dislikes

For my department, there was no educational excursion.
Negligence internship opportunities are available for my course.
Only some placement opportunities are available, and companies like TCS and Wipro came up for campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

A balanced view of campus life and learning

Likes

The English department has experienced and supportive teachers. Most professors explain concepts clearly and encourage discussions, close reading and critical thinking.
The course is very affordable, especially compared to private colleges. With scholarships, it becomes accessible for students from middle and lower income backgrounds.
The college has a friendly and diverse student crowd. The girls to boys ratio is balanced with slightly more female students, which creates a comfortable learning atmosphere.

Dislikes

The infrastructure needs improvement. Classrooms and common areas could be better maintained and modern facilities are limited.
There are very few placement opportunities for arts students.
Although some academic events take place, extracurricular activities and active student societies could be improved for better campus life.

Placement Experience:

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira: A Life Changing Experience

Likes

The college has an ideal atmosphere for studying and the hostel accommodation allowed for close bonding with seniors who helped us out in studies as well as personal matters. The teachers are extremely talented and treated us with care and respect.
It is an all boys college and it is without any doubt a ragging-free campus. There is anti-ragging cell as well as student councelling cell available on the campus to help out with these issues.
The experience of hostel life and the close sense of community that is formed during my stay has been instrumental in my growth and the strict implementation of discipline in our daily lives enriched me and changed my life for the better.

Dislikes

The administration is not always the best. Applications, forms, seminars and event permits all required a long time to get approved by the authorities as most of the time it meant compromising our strict schedule as it is a residential college.
The average food quality in the mess could be better. Again it is not always the best but for the most part it is decent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

Likes

I really like the environment of our college .
And the brilliant and talented professors with phed
And the friendly nature of the people in the college

Dislikes

The unavailability of the boys hostel in our college .
No bigger playground to play ...as there is only volleyball court to play .
The toilet facilities are not poorly managed .

I really liked geography as a subject for learning and exploring as it includes fieldwork , surveys and excursion which enhances our mind and experience in our life and this way we have many opportunities to learn new things in our life which is helpful for our future purposes. The only improvements I would like to note that to improve the toilet facilities and placement opportunities.

My overall experience is too good with good environment
I get proper theoretical knowledge from experienced faculties.
We get hands on experience from different star categories of hotels during the course in every weekend.

My experience as a student of Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College

I liked the lab in this college that's why I chose this. Compared to other colleges this college had nice labs, had a good name, have had heard the faculty was nice hence chose this. In other colleges either the distance was a problem or the timing of the shifts. They post admission lists on the college official website. If you take admission based on your list you have to pay around 19k at first. If you wish to change your mind later, the college returns your money. I applied to Lady Brabourne College, Scottish Church College, Presidency University, Asutosh College out of many other colleges. I chose my college because of the lab and highly qualified faculty. Apart from that when the merit list was out in some of these colleges, I had already taken admission in my college. I didn't get any rejection. The issues were related to distance, lab, faculty or time of merit list. You are eligible based on your 10+2 results. All board exams are accepted. Cutoff 70%.
