A Good choice for engineering

Why I chose the course: The course has a good mix of theory, practical subjects, labs and technical skills, which influenced my decision. Real-world preparation: The curriculum gives basic industry knowledge and practical experience. It is also useful for higher studies. Improvements: More practical projects, industry visits, updated technology and hands-on training would make the course better. Teaching could be more practical and interactive. Exams: Internal exams are conducted during the semester and university exams at the end. The difficulty is moderate and manageable with regular study.

For Zeal College/Zeal Polytechnic, you can keep it brief like this: Year-wise fees: Fees depend on the course and category. For reserved-category students, the amount is lower than open-category fees. Tuition & other fees: Tuition, development, lab, exam, registration and other compulsory charges are included in the annual fee structure. Caution deposit is usually paid separately/once. Category-wise fees: SC/ST students: major fee concessions are available. OBC/EWS: concessions may apply as per government rules. Open/Management: higher fees are applicable. Batchmates' fees: Open-category students generally pay more than SC/ST students, while exact fees depend on the admission quota and year. Scholarships: MahaDBT Post-Matric Scholarship, Freeship, EBC/EWS schemes and other government scholarships are available depending on eligibility.

I had also considered a few other engineering colleges in Pune, but I chose Zeal College because of its location, fees, infrastructure and placement opportunities. I did not face any major rejection. Admission mainly depends on the eligibility criteria, entrance exam score and availability of seats. The admission process is through the Maharashtra admission process. For engineering, students generally apply through MHT-CET or JEE Main. MHT-CET is the exam most students prefer. The cutoff changes every year depending on the branch and category. Overall, the admission process was straightforward and the college staff helped with the required documents and admission formalities.

Faculty ratio: The faculty-to-student ratio is good, so students can get individual attention when needed. Faculty relationship: Teachers are friendly, approachable and helpful with academics and doubts. Best faculty: I liked the teachers who explain concepts clearly and support students during practicals and projects. Faculty I didn’t like: I don’t want to name any faculty personally, but a few teachers could improve their teaching methods. Exams: There are internal exams and semester-end exams. The difficulty is moderate and regular study is enough to pass. Fail percentage: Most students clear the exams; the exact number of students who fail varies by subject and semester. Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and provides a good mix of theoretical and practical knowledge.

The college has a gym, cafeteria, library and common areas for students. The library is generally open during college hours, while other facilities close after working hours. Hostel and campus entry timings are fixed and students are expected to follow the rules. Popular hangout places inside the campus include the cafeteria, canteen and open sitting areas. Outside the college, students usually visit nearby cafes, food outlets and shopping areas around Narhe and Katraj. The locality is generally busy and safe during the day; at night, it is better to stay in groups and avoid isolated areas.
