Remarks

The positive remarks overcome the negative ones, but they are pretty significant. The infrastructure could be a bit better as well as the management as our juniors and really having issues with the management currently.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course which i opted for is BA.L.LB. The syllabus is based under the guidance of Burdwan University and I would say it is pretty detailed and covers a lot of the mainstream law practices. It has been able to provide me with decent knowledge and guide me to choose any particular stream.

Placement Experience

1.5

I am a bit disappointed with the placement process as it is not thorough and practically does not exist. There are very few listings of firms to join and the salary is never appropriate. Altho, we were given internship opportunities in the district courts under various advocates and can pursue this on our own if we want.

College Events

3.5

The number of events we have are sufficient for a college with a calibre of ours. We have freshers, yearly fests, farewell, picnics and a few events as such as and when necessary. I would say, it's okay as more events would have no point.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is very feasible. No issues in this matter. The fee structure for me is, 25k per year which is like the minimum amount you should have to pay to study in any college. I am very happy with the fees amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't really know of any scholarships or loans that are provided by the college as i have not personally enquired about it, but i am sure there must be some facilities that work towards this and benefit of the students.

Campus Life

3

As far as these labs go, we dont have much as this college is purely theory based. But we do have extracurricular activities in the form of sports, such as cricket, football, track events and intercollege competitions.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

No, i haven't been staying in a hostel. The hostel didn't look decent to me as there are very few facilities against the number of students present. The hygienic conditions weren't also upto the mark for me.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. The seniors are very helpful and have never really disappointed us. They have helped us whenever necessary and have really guided us with their experiences. Few of them even helped us find jobs in certain sectors.

Admission

There was a merit list based on the performance of class 12,and also a quick interview with the person incharge of the admission process. I applied for the seat and produced the documents and it took them a few days to get through the process. I was pretty confident about my selection.

Faculty

4

The faculty, although not the very best, is pretty competent in guiding you and helping you throughout the course. The teachers are helpful and understanding and will try to clear doubts whenever and wherever necessary.

Starting from our 3rd semester we will start to appear in various kind of internships there are so many big corporate law companies who came and hires from our universities. As our seniors got jobs this year the highest package is 50000 per month and she is currently working in a corporate law sector. Almost 72 to 80% students get placements. After getting my degree I will apply for internships and at the same time I think I will apply for masters program too.

Placements are given. But not what students dreamed of. Everyone gets opportunity to sit on interview and get placed. To perform good in interview our university has included boot camps in our routine which helps in improving our interview skills. Students in their last year get offers for jobs from university but students are not getting job offers as they excepted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.A.LLB(Hons.) because I want to have knowledge of law because laws form the basis of society. Moreover, I had an Arts Background therefore, it was a good combination for me to explore and go according to my desired path of career. The count of faculty members of IILS is an approximation of 20-30 teachers and the students each semester is near about 70-100. The teachers are truly well versed in their respective subjects and they're immensely knowledgeable and friendly, they try hard to make us understand in the easiest manner. But the only problem is that the faculties are not permanent, it keeps on changing. The term examinations were always on time except for the lockdown time but this was also managed smoothly within time. In order to know the difficulties I would share a fact and i.e., when I took admission in my Institute there was a total number of 140 students in my semester but no sooner than the first exam held half of them failed and now we're 70 of us.
