One of best law colleges of West Bengal

I completed my LLB from Durgapur Institute of Legal Studies. I learnt alot from my faculties and the moot court practices came handy to me. My seniors and classmates also helped me alot during my studies. I liked this college pretty much and have many memories associated to it.

The college follows the syllabus prescribed by the Burdwan University. The Burdwan University provides the college with affiliation. The LLB course has 6semesters for 3 years and so the examination is held twice every year. Practical presentation is also held in moot court for evaluations.

There are various job opportunities available after LLB. One can apply for working as a legal advisor in a law firm or agency. One can also work under any lawyer to gain experience also. College also recommended some students to work under different organisations and MNCs.

The fee for first year of my LLB was around Rs. 40,000 and for subsequent years the fee was around Rs. 30,000 approx. The total fee for entire duration of my LLB course was around Rs. 1lakh for 3-year.

The college has a special moot court for courtroom presentations and teaching how real court ceremonies are performed to students. The moot court helps student learn, understand and gain confidence in their presentational skills. The college also has a vast libary having a wide variety of books, magazines, journals and newspapers.

The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The hostel fee is around Rs. 53000 charged per year. The hostel rooms are quite good and have a good lawn. The hostel mess has healthy and hygienic food served.

Candidates can take admission in different courses here. In college, some of the different courses offered are B.A L.L.B, L.L.B etc. B.A L.L.B is having five years duration and can be applied after graduation whereas L.L.B can be applied after graduation and the course duration is three years. Students can take admission via entrance exams and direct admissions are also available to the college. I took the admission for B.A. L.L.B in this college. The admission process was good and time-saving.

The faculty of the college is nice and knowledgable in their respective fields and are quite professional, they taught us many good ways to tackle problems during studies and always there for clearing our doubts related different topics.
