Architecture - Dr. MGR University, Chennai

I was really interested in drawing and art therefore I chose architecture. As it is a professional course the curriculum prepares us for the real world applications through the valuable subjects in our academic Every month there will be a CAT and proceeding with model exam and semester exam

L&R private limited, Chennai, role offered was as an intern with onsite and offsite experience, without stipend for minimum 4 months but the chances of getting placed as a fresher after graduation is really easy.

From 8th semester the students are eligible for the campus placements. I have visited 3-4 companies and the package they offer is about 5-7 lakh per annum for freshers. Only the qualifying above 6 cgpa students are eligible for the placements. I'm going to do my master's in architecture in future

As I'm studying in scholarship I'm paying 1 lakh per year, for non scholarship students the normal fees is 1.4 lakh per year. There is no admission fee or donation we can just book our spot and pay the semester fees. There are many department in our college architecture, engineering, medical and arts too. Their fee structure also applies the same.

The annual cultural we celebrate is our MGaRchian's SKETCH. And we also celebrate our famous festivals like Diwali, Pongal, Onam, Holi etc. There are wide range of books available at our library, dedicated floor is provided for the library use. There are several clubs and dedicated periods to have student interaction.

I wanted to go to rajalakshmi college, Chennai but i didn't because of the distance problem i had and travel issues. I chose Dr.MGR University because it doesn't have any capitation fees or admission fees i can directly get admission into the course with my semester fees and qualifying marks.

There are sufficient number of staffs available for all the branches of architecture - B.Arch, M.Arch, B.des. they are friendly and gives importance to each and every student of the class. The exam procedure is we'll be having two CAT assessment, model exam and semester exam. The difficulty of the question paper will be moderate whereas mostly all students pass, just 1-2 students may fail. The exams are only upon the syllabus.

There was no interview type of admission, we need to a qualifying mark in NATA and class 12th. If we are qualifying under the cutoff we can get the admission. There might be a small interview in the architecture department interviewing the marks obtained.

Gym, cafeteria is available in the hostels with flexible timings. The campus timing is from 9:30 am till 3:45 pm whereas the hostel closing time is by 9 pm for boys and 5 pm for girls Denzer Den is the closest hang out space to the campus, the locality is quite safe and there always be people around all time
