What Students Say
Likes
- Best thing you can get here is very good experienced faculties. All professors and teaching staff is brilliant in their own subjects and are well recognised globally.
- Also the faculties being such big personalities, they're all very humble and always wish for your best. So in terms of mentorship too, this college wins.
- Labs are well equipped, all chemicals and glasswares are easily accessible and available in college store.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the department sometimes looks very outdated so that's something out college lacks but also there's always room for the improvement.
- It definitely offers you placements but sometimes they might not match your expectations and you may have to look for another link to get employed.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is of course very very well-structured and designed as per official PCI guidelines, covers core subjects required for professional pharmacy education. It provides a balanced mix of theory and practicals which helped me choose this course. Subjects are relevant for higher studies, competitive exams, and industry exposure. Practical sessions and lab work support real world applications, though more industry targeted training, internships and modern techniques can further improve learning outcomes. Exams are conducted as per the academic calendar with sessional exams and semester exams, maintaining a moderate status. Overall, the curriculum is relevant, standardized, and aligned with PCI norms.
Internships Opportunities
Companies don't visit just to offer internship. However it is mandatory to do internship after third year, and for that you have to search for those by yourself. You only get LOR from professor and then you can start searching for internships.
Placement Experience
Placements are average here not much to expect. Only expect around 2 lakhs something per annum. Companies visit not so often on this campus, upon completion of degree you have to inform professor that you're willing to sit for placement only then companies will be called. Final semester students are eligible for placements. Other information about placements is not much disclosed by our department. My plans after getting degree is to simply opt for masters degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well the yearly fees that you'll be paying for B.Pharm course is averagely 98000 ruppees, 1 or 2 thousand may differ sometimes. I am a currently a third year student with 6th semester ongoing. So I have paid 2 years fees(1,2,3,4 semesters) and 5th semester as of now. I have paid roughly amount of 98000 ruppees per year but you have to pay your fees semester wise here(keep in mind no installment system). So for first semester fees here's the breakdown:- Academic fees- 21000/- Exam fees- 2750/- Development and Maintenance fees- 21000/- University fees- 3630/- Caution fees- 4000/- Alumni fees- 500/- So total sem fees is 55880/-(excluding portal charges 100/-) For upcoming semesters you can expect the amount of 48000 rupees roughly because there won't be caution fees and alumni fees. Amount I'll be paying for next semester ie 6th one will also be somewhere around this 48k or 49k ruppees. My category friends SC/ST get scholarship almost 100 %. Most common scholarship that people apply to are:- MMVY and Post matric scholarships Both of these scholarships are based on your category and yearly income. You might get 100 percent scholarship if you fit in right criteria. Due to some reasons I do not fit in criteria even though being OBC.
Campus Life
Only some sport events take place here. Other wise no clubs or any other extra curricular activities. Only some festival events along with normal competitions. Library of our department is huge, offering tons of topics related to our degree. All classrooms are equipped with projector system and they're used everyday for teaching.
Admission
Before finalizing my admission, I had shortlisted two other colleges: Indore Institute of Pharmacy (IIP) and SGSITS. IIP was a mid-level college, whereas DAVV was a better option as it is a reputed state university. SGSITS is a high-profile institute, but the cutoff was very high, and I could not secure admission there. I received a rejection from SGSITS but had an offer from IIP, so I ultimately chose DAVV for its academic reputation. Admission to DAVV is based on the CUET entrance examination, for which eligibility includes required subjects as prescribed by the university, followed by a centralized counselling process. Overall, the admission experience was smooth and normal, without any major issues.
Faculty
The faculties are great and are also good in numbers. Everyone including teaching staff and non teaching staff, everyone is humble personality and are easily approachable. As I said they're very humble and professors always try to encourage you for betterment of yourself. I have never had any unpleasant with any professors or any staff members. Of course for some reasons I won't call out their names but trust me they're best minds of pharmacy and guarantee you best quality education they can provide. Exam format is simple each semester you have :- 1st sessional - 50 % syllabus 2nd sessional - 50 % syllabus End sem exam - full syllabus You get enough time to study and cover the syllabus. And difficulty maybe moderate if stated correctly. The syllabus is based upon PCI main syllabus and it is relevant according to today's era.
Interview Experience
No group discussions were there. No interview round were there. Only there was a counselling session that we had to attend after giving CUET exam and make sure to add DAVV as college in selection process of form filling for CUET.
Night Life
Department is situated near the main road. So for chilling after classes you will have to go the main university for refreshment. Big plus point for boys, Boys hostel is nearby department so it's easy and accessible. No cafeterias are there in campus but offers a great library. Timing of college is 10 am to 6:30 pm
Other Applied Colleges
Indore Institute of Pharmacy - [IIP] | Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm]
I felt Davv university is better option than this. Also this college is private on the other hand Davv is state university.
