A journey to srm

The positive point about the college is its placement (for cse and it). The extra curricular activities and event and the negative about the college is its environment (so many student indulge in drugs activities).

I think the curriculum of srm is quite good and it's almost up to date.The exam structure is very stressful at my time.we have 50 marks internal and 50 marks University exam.Internal exam consist of 3 cycle test of 50,75,75 marks respectively t which convert to a weightage of 10,15,15 marks respectively.5 marks quiz is there and 5 marks for surprise test.University exam is of 100 marks which is converted to 50 marks.So overall 100 marks(50internal+50external).the grading system is also bad at my time.for example if one get 84% the his will be in the of 7 while in other institute it will be in the range of 9.But now they have introduce percentage system also.So in degree both marks and gpa will be mention.

When u talk about srm, first thing come in our mind about srm is its placement.they claim 100% placement but its not true.the placement for cse and it department are very good almost all the student who are eligible in these department got placement.the placement percentage of cse and it are around 90+.the percentage for other department are very bad.Most of the student of other department also get placed in it based industry.

Srm has tWO big events 1)aarush 2)milan They are considered as the biggest event of south.many famous celebritis come to college for this event.Technical, cultural,sports, all sorts of event are conducted.

The fee structure is very expensive of srm it's vary according to branch.the tution for civil is around 2 lakh.15 thousand for book fees,20 thousand for carrier development fees.semester fees is not included.

100% scholarship is provided for securing rank between 1 to 100 in srmjee or state topper and cbse topper also get 100% scholarship.student having rank under 1000 in jee mains also get 100% scholarship.sports quota is also there.You can avail loan facility at the Time of admission.

Extracurricular activities are good in the college.you can take part in verious fest.the labs are well equipped , sports facility is not that good here.basketball court, volleyball court are there.varoius competition also happens time to time.

The hostel rooms are good.if we talk about girls hostel the rooms are good but their rules for girls hostle is very strict like they won't we allowed to go outside after 7:00pm in night.But for boys its 9:00 pm in night.Boys hostel have jim.laundry service is provided in hostel.you can't take any electrical appliances in room like electric ketle etc. the mess food is very bad for north indians.they have all sorts of variety but the taste is not good

The alumni network is very strong since it's a old college.teh the senior student are very helpful.Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college.Senior students are very helpful.Notable alumnia are r ashwin.

Some of the faculty of srm are experience but most of faculty are of local Chennai itself.But the faculty are very friendly.Some of the faculty are studying in the college and are teaching as well.Some the teacher are phd holder.
