Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main reason behind choosing B.Sc University at Lucknow University was it curriculum, which was comprehensive and balanced, which covers core subjects like Botany, Zoology and Chemistry with regular lab visits as it's necessary for a science student to have practical knowledge along with the theoretical. However, there is still a chance of improvement as the science is evolving subject and hence the curriculum should also evolve with it.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for the placement in the final year. More then 20+ companies visited the campus including HARS Technologies,Axis Bank, Carnation Infotech etc. Avg Package offered was aorunf 8.5 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

B.Sc Biology is a 3 years course divided into 6 semesters. The fees is quite affordable as compared to other colleges. Basic Fees(Rs. Per Semester)- 4277 Enrollment Fee of Rs. 1000 (one-time payment) Laboratory fees of Rs. 2000 per semester per annum is charged. Caution fees of Rs. 2000(one time payment)- its fully reimbursed once the course is completed. The University also provide UP Government Scholarship program for the students coming from weaker economic section.

Campus Life

5

My overall campus experience was really wonderful. The college organize many fests and also take parts in other fests hosted by other colleges. Like, in 2019 Isabelle Thoburn College's Chemistry department hosted NIRANTAR fest in which our Univerisity participated. The central library is one of the strongest asset of the University, housing a vast variety of academic books, journals, novels and many more.

Admission

I applied for Banaras Hindu University as it was close to my home and also the biggest University but my admission wasn't confirmed. I chose Lucknow University because mostly the curriculum of both the universities was same with excellent faculties. In 2017 , when I took the admission, LU was having its own exam but now that exam is merged with CUET exam. The eligibility for taking admission in B.Sc(Biology) course : The candidate should be 12th pass with Biology as main subject.

Faculty

5

Typically, the faculty to student ration is around 30 per one teacher along with the assistant. The faculty which I liked the mist was Chemistry department. We were encouraged not just on theoretical study but practical too. The B.Sc Biology course is divided into 6 semesters spread over 3 years with two exams each year. Each semester includes both practical and theoretical exams. The questions are moderate for those who attend the classes daily. The failure rate is quite low. Those student who wants to improve their marks, they can do so by apprearing in the IMPROVEMENT EXAM conducted by the University itself.

Night Life

5

My favourite hangout spot Botany Garden and the Library. I don't have any hostel life experience. The University cafeteria and small stalls near Arts Quadrangle are favourite hangout points. The library generally closes around 6 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is good, but i feel there are multiple coding languages being taught, instead they should stick to one lang(give students diff courses for diff languages that they can choose from, rather than making all students study one same language that is c , which is also outdated) , also i feel since its the profs choice when to keep mid sems, full month mid sems go on, so exams are too frequent. difficulty level is moderate i would say

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is more focused on theory knowledge rather than practical experience. If you are willing to prepare for another competitive exams while opting a degree then you can consider this. If this degree is the only thing that you rely on then this is not worth it. Curriculum is easy to understand and gives you a lot of time to assemble things. The gap between exams and semesters is also enough to prepare accordingly.
