Course Curriculum Overview

4

Speaking honestly my reason to Choose bachelors of engineering in computer science and engineering was to be eligible for the technical entries of the indian army and the reason for choosing Chandigarh university was because it was the one of the top universities over the globe and it was very near to my hometown so that I can live with my family

Internships Opportunities

5

There are numerous opportunities for the internship one can have. One of my colleagues was intern in the Air Force Station of india where she was an asisting the officers of the Indian Air Forces and getting a stipend of 10000INR it was around 2 months long project where she learned about Drones and aviation which includes manufacturing designing and flying of drones. I was doing a internship with NOKIA where I was assigned as data base manager with stipend of 9000INR per month where I have learned about management of data in a multinational company.

Placement Experience

4

The placement rate of Chandigarh University is best among the universities of the country. You become eligible for the placement drive after the completion of your 4 semester. There are many companies which vist Chandigarh University like Google flipkart amazon dell infosys.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am currently pursuing bachelor of engineering in computer science and engineering from Chandigarh University my current tuition fee is 120000/- per semester and adding on 5000 security fees,2500 registration fees,2500 examination fees and I don't have any transport fees and hostel fees but they are around 30-40k and 125k respectively. Apart from all this university provides different types of scholarship for the welfare of the students like the dependent of defense personnel get 10% scholarship for their education and there is exam named CUCET in which every student can appear based on the performance of their exam the scholarship is awarded according. The university also provides scholarships to JEE/NEET students according to their ranks and the minorities students too.

Campus Life

4

Well pursuing your graduation at Chandigarh University is like a dream come true for me because I always imagined a college that is like the university of Canada. The University celebrates every function at a high level like bihar diwas diwali lohri and so on. The facilities of classrooms is very well maintained you are provided with a smart project and 4 centerized air conditioners in one classroom. The sports events are always going on over the year. There are a lot of extracurricular activity too like one can be a cadet of national cadets corps or a volunteer of NSS. There are numerous clubs which are operated and organized by the students only.

Admission

I also applied for chitkara university patiala for the bachelor of engineering in computer science and engineering but later on I found out that chitkara university was far away from my hometown and the available seats for computer science and engineering was very low.

Faculty

3

The faculty is good and also not good at all. Look the good and the bad ones are always there in every corner of this world. Talking about the ratio of faculty and students is pretty good there are around 200 faculty in a building of 1500 students. I remember vikas mittal sir was the best teacher in my 3 years of college he used to understand the point of the view of students too and help them all in their tough time. He was the one who motivated us during our exams days. Some are also there who don't even treat students as a human beings.

Night Life

5

The night life of Chandigarh university is like heaven there is peace all over the bird the returning there home looking at the sky is magnificent. The campus is open for everyone till 9 of the night after that the hostelers return back to their hostels and there is attendance for the hostelers. There are numerous of cafes around the campus you will find every big brand here. The fountain park is one of the best places and the famous one too also known as park of love.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
