Remarks

The only point about our college is that it is not isolated from BHU. It is an open campus and anyone from outside is allowed in it. Another downside is the infrastructure. Being a hundred year old campus the infrastructure is bit dated. Rest every thing about this college is positive from placements to extra curricular activities to events to alumni network to course structure and everything else.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course Curriculum is good. The teachers are also good. Exams are held 2 times every 6 months. Exam is based on what is taught in the class. The first exam is called mid-semester exam while the second one is called end semester exam. With the end semester exam a semester in college is finished.

Placement Experience

5

Placements and Job opportunities are quite good. Tech giants like apple, microsoft, goldman sachs visit the college every year and take a huge number of students. Companies come to offer internship to the students in third year. Average stipend this year was 72000 while recruitment is still going on.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of IITs is quite feasible. For students with family annual income less than 6 lakh, the tuition fees is only 6000 per semester. For students from reserved categories the tuition fees is waived off. For general category students with family income>6 lakh the tuition fees is 1 lakh 6 thousand rupees.

Fees and Financial Aid

As such IITs don't provide any scholarships. For students whose family income<6 lakh, the tuition fees is only 6000 rupees for 6 months and hostel fees is 12000 rupees. For reserved category students the tuition fees is waived off and they only have to pay 12000 rupees for hostel accommodation.

Hostel Facilities

4

Each room in hostel is shared by two students. There is a bathroom on each floor with basic amenities like heater etc. Each hostel has a common room, equipped with television and two table tennis tables where students cam relax. Each hostel also has a badminton court and volleyball court. Each hostel also has a late night canteen which are open till 2-3 am. Therefore the infrastrucutre of the hostel is quite good and facilities provided are adequate.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is extraordinary. Being a 100 year old college, its alumni are spread all across the world. One alumni from our college is vice president of CISCO, a tech giant. They donate our college huge amount of money every year. The senior students are like our brothers. They help us if we face any problem. They also guide us about the placements and internships and organize various workshops for our learning.

Admission

Admission in IITs is done through an entrance test called JEE advanced. You can give this test based on syllabus of 11th and 12th standard. The result comes in the form of a rank. My all India rank(air) was 2017. Once the result is out, counselling occurs. You have to select the desired colleges and desired branch. You get a college based on your rank.

Faculty

4

Faculty in IITs is selected by thorough selection tests and interviews. So the faculty is quite good and experienced. There are also teachers here teaching for more than 20 or 30 years. The faculty here is also very helpful. You can take profects under the faculty and mention them in your resume.

Form the beginning of very first year students are eligible for the campus placements. TCS, cognizant, wipro, are the some companies visited here. Highest package is 44 lpa in amazon which is off campus for software role. Placements % is quite medium if you are serious about skill then you will be get a path here to go ahead. Arround 60 to 70 is the placement % My plans after getting degree is to get a job.

Placement Experience:

No companies as here only lawyers of arbitration and other domains come to hire students. Most students though have PPO from their interning companies but not real 10-20 LPA placements for Galgotias and that i wish change because our university academics and the kind of learning that is provided is at par with that of NLUs.

Placement Experience:

Packages aren't as good or big as NLUs as 4-5 lakhs is median and just 25% students gets placements from University. Most students though go for litigation and I am also going to do the same as this is how I want to build my career and take it forward. Even LLM is also an option and GLA University is the one from where I will do, if I plan to do masters.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Overall curriculum was good that they make proper schedules of classes and all but there was something lacking is that sometimes the professor was absent and we wasn't aware about that and sitting in that class without knowing they should inform us or make a proper arrangement for replacing of class with other teacher and also there was lacking of technology in studies I didn't remember how many times they used the projector for proper teaching.
