Likes

Syllabus is very easy as it is not autonomous
All the Book are provided along with tuition fee
Fee is every affordable in comparison with various universities

Dislikes

The crowd is too much and I really hate it
All the process happen very slowly and it needs to improved
It literally took me one whole day for completing the admission processes

Course Curriculum Overview

Firstly I'm doing CA Foundation as my primary career and I am doing B Com as I might require a proper College degree in future for various purposes. To be more specific I am doing B.com banking management as I am interested to learn about the processes of how banks operate and their functioning. Also I would suggest my fellow students to do a specialised BCom course rather than B.com general

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 7500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is ?7500 per yearand for 3 years it would be ?22,500. Some of my classmates who have joined last year (2024) senior to me have paid ?12,000 per year.i was truly shocked to see the change in fee structure.

Campus Life

The University of Madras is situated in a very good place at Chennai. The campus is not so bad and not so good either I would give that an average position. The University in general doesn't give much importance to any social aspects of students.

Admission

Having scored 572/600 , which is roughly around 95% I could literally get into any college in my city easily with merit quota itself however as my major plan is on accomplishing a successful career on chartered accountancy I personally thought of joining a college just to get a degree. So obviously I went for the most affordable one.

Faculty

My personal opinion would be that depending on the facilities for literally everything will not be suitable. However the faculties are not so great either because of their pressure I guess. Because therere are many students and less faculties

Night Life

The University of Madras doesn't have a gym. The cafeteria is quiet good as the price is very affordable and the taste is also great. There are many spots near the University of Madras. To summarise it has a not so great nightlife.

Best friendly college with quality education

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester onwards the management made various efforts to conduct oncampus And they made it. Some companies which visited our campus is tata groups , vindhya e infomedia, wipro etc. Highest package offered is 3,00,000 per annum most probably 80 % of students placed. My plan after degree is to place in good reputed company.

From the 4th semester exam, the student is eligible for a placement campus interview. In our college, mega campus interview happen and all south college students participated in our college campus interview Some campus interview companies are LIC, Muthoid finance, and HDFC. 20% of people were selected in campus interviews. After my degree, I going to do CA intermediate exam and attend some government exams.

As i have chose the path of chartered accountancy.. In order to have a degree i chose bcom and for correspondence facility i chose madras university as it was much preferred by everyone who prefer to do distance education.
