Course Curriculum Overview
The BCA Curriculum covers core subjects like programming and DBMS,which influence my choice. It's good for theory but needs more real-world and practical exposure. Teaching should include updated tools and live projects.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am persuing BCA from KCC Institute of Legal and Higher Education, affiliated to GGSIPU.The yearly tuition fees is Rs.85000 and the exam fees is Rs.3500 making it Rs.88500 per year. The total fees for 3 years is approx. Rs.2,65,500. I haven't received any scholarship. The fees has remain the same since admission .
Campus Life
KCC hosts it's annual fest 'Fuel Fest' in March which features dance, music, fashion shows and various competitions. Ocassionally, technical events and coding contests are organized. The library offers decent range of academic books but limited journals and coding related resources. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, whiteboards and Wi-Fi and clean seating arrangements.Computer labs are well-maintained with working systems. Sports include, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Lawn Tennis, Badminton and no indoor games. KCC has active dance, music, fashion, drama, sports, tech, law and many more clubs. They organize events and competitions and adding fun and learning to campus life.
Hostel Facilities
I stay in college hostel inside campus. Rooms are double, triple sharing, single occupancy and also a dormitory available ,with beds , tables, wardrobes, attached bathrooms, free Wi-Fi , and option for cooler and AC. Food is average, with a fixed menu. Hostel Registration is offline at the time of admission. Seat allotment is on first-come, first -serve basis. The fees is affordable compared to outside hostels includes meals and basic facilities.
Admission
I appeared for CUET but didn't get admission through it. Due to high cutoff,I choose KCC Institute of Legal and Higher Education because of its affordable fees structure and decent academic environment and good faculty for BCA. Other colleges had much higher annual fees, which made KCC a more budget-friendly option for me and my family. The admission process at KCC is through GGSIPU CET councelling based on 12th percentage. No seperate entrance exam needed for BCA.The cutoffs varies every year, but students with 50%+ in 12th usually get admission.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is good around 1:40. Most teacher are supportive and easy to approach. Some explain the topics well with examples. A few just read slides without practical input. The course is semester based with internals and externals.Internals are of 40 marks (mid-term+assignments), externals are of 60 marks. Attendance and assignments affect internals. Exams are moderate difficulty. Students who attend classes and prepare well usually pass. The curriculum is helpful but need more focus on practical skills and industry tools.
Interview Experience
No, I didn't face group discussion, interviews or written test for admission. The admission process was based on merit of class 12th marks. No preparation for group discussion or interview was required, as the selection was direct and purely on academic performance.
Night Life
I live in college hostel with 7:30 PM in-time, but hostel gate close at 9:30 PM for girls and 11 PM for boys. The campus gym, cafeteria, library close by evening. The cafe in campus (hostel) cafe stays open till 9 PM. Famous hangout spots nearby include Jagat Farm Market, Grand venice mall, Omaxe mall, and many cafe nearby market areas. Students often chill in cafeterias or stalls outside the campus after classes .The outside locality is not very safe at night , but students can walk safely within the campus.
