Course Curriculum Overview

2

I liked games, was interested in game dev so I took it. I don't the the curriculum is in any way suited to prepare students for the real world at all. Courses could be made better by reducing some useless subjects every sem and adding actually useful and interesting subjects.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are plenty of intership opportunities with the final semester being a compulsory intership for all students. The stipend is also pretty good ranging from 50000-200000. Companies like Capgemini, accenture, wipro Amazon come for internships.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are above average, with median package being 7 lpa. Students are eligible from 5th sem for placements. Many companies like Amazon, wipro, accenture come every year for placements along with me recruiters like TCS. Highest package ever is 1.08 Crpa in amazon for 5 students and the average is around 14 lpa. Around 90% students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

3.5 lakhs per year for my course, 4.5 lakh per year for CSE Core. Scholarship for top 100 ranks in SRM entrance exam if 90%+ attendance and 9+ cgpa is maintained. Also scholarships for students with family members in armed forces.

Campus Life

3

Overall campus life is pretty chill, there are multiple places to hangout and have a good time with friends. There are two major fests every year, a tech fest and a cultural fest in September and March respectively. The library has books for all subjects. Classrooms don't have much provision with charging ports and AC being rarely available.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostels are below average and the mess food is mediocre at best. It's not suggestable to take hostel at all, plenty of flat rentals are available around the campus with 4-6 sharing flats with rents ranging from around 6000-10000 per month.

Admission

Got a confirmed admission in nmims vile Parle but found SRM better in terms of placements and quality. Also wanted to get away from home. Didn't get any other college as didn't take 12th studies and JEE preparation seriously. For admission in SRM you have to give the srm entrance exam that is online and is quite easy compared to other competitive exams. After that you get a rank, you have to apply for the desired course and campus acc to your rank and post 110000 out of which 100000 is refundable should you choose to cancel the course.

Faculty

2

Faculty to student ratio is decent. However the relationship is not that good, most of the facilities don't care much about anything, just give attendance, marks and leave. Most of them aren't approachable for doubts or anything and often don't like to be disturbed. Best faculties are the one that not only just speak from an imaginary script and leave, but actually teach something in the class, and connect with everyone as and when needed and are actually knowledgeable about the world. On the other hand, some faculties are unnecessarily strict, shouting without reason, reducing marks without reason and making our lives worse. There about 2-3 class tests before the end sem exams. They are relatively easy to score if studying smartly. The class tests along with some assignments sum up to 60 marks in the internals and 40 marks are for the end sem exams. Rarely any (4-5 per class of 65) fail a subject that too because of missed exams , not being unable to score passing marks.

Interview Experience

5

No, there was nothing like that, direct admission through the exam and half fee payment in advance. There was no interview nor rounds or anything. Criteria for qualification is 60% physics chemistry and maths that's it.

Night Life

1

Nightlife is not safe at all, locals sometimes roam under influence of alcohol or other narcotics and harm students. Plenty of gyms are there but all are quite crowded due to the sheer population of the college. Hostels have an in time of 7pm for girls and 9pm for boys.

Placement Experience:

Placements were too good in DACE. They also provide training for students who opt for higher studies or civil service exams. For higher studies, they give gate training. For the civil service exam, they give specific training for students to join government jobs. Other than this very good MNC companies with high packages will come to DACE for recruitment.
