Course Curriculum Overview

4

Actually I was interested in this course and my father is a former employee in this job. This curriculum prepares for the next obstacle either the job or academic pursuits. It makes us competitive enough to tolerate the real-world condition.Areas of improvement in course curriculum and teaching methods like they can add new subjects related nowadays and prepare for the future this teaching produce improvements but hey can adapt for more modern ways. The timing of internal assessment will be of once in a month and the model exams will be once in 5 months.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provide many internship opportunities for the students in industry as well as other universities. They also provide international internship to students with stipend. Some famous companies for my course which gives internship through our college are ONGC, CPCL, Indian Oil, HP, Shelletc. They provide international internship in Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan etc. The internship provided by IIT Chennai through our collective 15000/ month stipend.

Placement Experience

5

The students are eligible for campus placement from 2nd year. They train the students to be ready for the interview and improves the speaking skills. The companies visited for the placements are infosys, Bosch, Larsen and Toubro,Tech Mahindra and other IT/Core companies. The highest package I've seen from my college is 15L/annum and the average salary package comes between 5L/annum to 7L/annum. In my course the previous batch accomplished 100% Placement and overall placement is 75% some students opt for higher education. I am one of the 25% who is interested to pursue for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our College is currently 17th Overall rank in Tamil Nadu.Average Per year Tution Fees will be around 1Lakh per year and the placement fees are extra which will be additional 10000 per year from 2nd Year. This fees is applicable for Management quota and Sc,St Caste has deduction of amount to 70000 per year including college bus fees. The hostel fees is between 50000 to 80000 per year according to your comfort.Bus fees is 30000 per year regardless the distance.Lab Fees and development charges comes under the tution fees. There are Many scholarship awarded directly or indirectly from the college to minority religion and caste.Minimum Scholarship are available for merit based.Mostly the scholarship fees covers 75% of the tution fees. scholarship like NSP, muslim minority, Christian Minority etc are available.Day scholars have advantage of less Tution fees. Since, The bus fees is fixed and it is mandatory unless you are situated 5Km nearby the College. These students have less fees compared to other students. Lowest fees I have seen is my bathcmate who has NSP scholarship and he only pays 25000-30000/ year including other fees. Highest fees I've seen is also my batchmate which is around 135000/year including other fees who comes under management quota. The fees structure is stable for years and other courses also have similar fees structure.

Campus Life

4

The college conducts various annual and technocrats like Inspironz, Cultural events, Techunt, Symposium, Workshop, Mozhi which is musical and traditional cultural festival. They also conducts Flash mob and language festival which includes japanese and German culture. The library contains various journals and books from most of the areas. The students have accessibility to the library till 5pm which is 2 hours more than the college timing. The facilities like SIPH and Great Mastermind classroom are fully airconditioned and contains world class technologies. Sports and extracurricular activities are improving day by day. Every day they train which includes sports like cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi etc.Mant students run the the social clubs which includes college activities like Symposium, workshop, Techunt, food fests, cultural activities, other college activities and study group. Each department have different clubs to improve the quality. They also give awards to the volunteered students from these activities to support them and motivating other students.

Admission

I chose this college since there is limited college available for this course and this college is best in it.There are other colleges in colleges in chennai that have same courses but their rank was lower. Other than this college I applied to Veltech College where they accepted my application.Since, it is Deemed university and I heard that the specific course teaching in this college is poor. This college have Anna University Certificate which is best so I chose this college over other. Currently the admission process is not that complicated. Since, it is a fast growing college the admission process will be complicated in future. If you are entering in Management quota and apply early you will get the seat. If you are entering through government quota then they will select through councelling.

Faculty

4

Every Department has sufficient amount of Faculties. Our batch contains 4 permanent faculties and 2 substitute faculties. Most of the faculties are friendly and clears your doubt if you ask them. Sometimes they are more busy due to college work.I can't name the faculties I don't like but some higher officials are into Traditional Learning we can't change them. In ayear they conduct three internal assessment, two model exams and two semester exam.Usually the failed students number are low because they prepare the students 1 month ahead and complete all other lab activities and assignment before two months of the examination. This helps the students to concentrate more in The final exams.

Interview Experience

5

My interview experience was excellent the topics for GD was Carbon sequestration and the interviewer asked many questions about it mostly basic one since it is my expertise I answered all the questions correctly.

Night Life

3

The nightlife in college is good. The gym is pretty good, the cafeteria contains healthy and tasty snacks and food. The library is open till 5pm and the public area will be accessible till 9pm. The college is very safe for girls since they don't allow girl to hangout with boys at evening. According to my friends the hostel Life is excellent they make lifelong worthy friends and they say these are the best time of their life. The college is strict in entry and exit timings. The entry should be before 8:30 am and for the hostel students they can roam outside till 8pm. As I said earlier the nightlife outside is not that great since they are long from the city. The famous place in college I would say is the stonebench where all the mates have Great time while talking and eating snacks.

Placement Experience:

In my college placement start from 7th semester, students get eligible to sit in drives. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some core firms visited and gave good no of offers. Highest package was around 10 LPA and average near 4.5 LPA depending on profile, mostly software dev, testing and few core engineer role. Around 70% students got placed last year, rest go for higher studies or other prep. My plan after finishing degree is to first try campus offer then aim for higher studies if I not satisfied. Overall placement is decent but still more core companies should come.

Course Curriculum Overview:

ECE is a core subject in the upcoming technologies like the semiconductor field etc. which is why I chose this branch. VIT has a lot of labs and equipment that enables a person to learn and grasp practical knowledge faster. The teaching methods include using a PPT and using a white board . Sometimes flip classes are done when students explain topics. The 2nd open book test is the toughest in difficulty level when compared to exam 1 and the final test.
