Course Curriculum Overview
I chose SSIPMT Raipur mainly because of its decent placement record and the course structure. In the syllabus, we have C, Python, Java, and DSA – which are good for building programming skills. These subjects are very useful for coding and job interviews later. With highest package being 42 lpa and companies like tcs wipro cognizant come here for placement.
Internships Opportunities
SSIPMT Raipur provides internship support mainly from 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and startups offer roles such as Web Developer, Python Intern, Tester, etc. Some internships come with stipends (?5K–?15K), but many are unpaid or certificate-based. Projects include basic web apps, automation scripts, and testing modules. Outcomes usually involve practical exposure and project completion certificates.
Placement Experience
Placements at SSIPMT Raipur are pretty good. Students become eligible from 6th semester for campus placements. Companies that visit: TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, etc. They mostly offer roles like software developer, support engineer, tester, etc. Highest Package: ?42 LPA (off-campus international placement) Average Package: Around ?6 LPA Placement Percentage: Almost 100% for CS/IT branches if the student is active and skilled. My Future Plan: After completing my degree, I’ll try to get placed through campus first, then maybe switch later for better opportunities or prepare for higher studies if needed.
Fees and Financial Aid
B.Tech Fees: ?86,000/year MBA Fees: ~?70,000–?75,000/year Diploma/Other Courses: Varies (?30,000–?50,000/year approx.) Bus Fees: ?18,000/year (optional) Hostel Fees: ~?55,000–?65,000/year (includes food & lodging) Scholarships: Merit-based and government scholarships available Students can apply through CG State or NSP portal Fee Trend: Stable, no major hikes in recent years.
Campus Life
Campus life at SSIPMT Raipur is decent. Fests like Urjaa and Techstorm happen in Feb–March. The library has a good collection of books and journals. Classrooms have smart boards and projectors. Sports like cricket, volleyball, and indoor games are available. There are clubs for coding, dance, drama, etc., which keep student life active and fun.
Admission
I got admission in SSIPMT Raipur through CGPET. I didn’t apply to BIT Durg, only filled for SSIPMT because I had heard about its good placements and support from seniors. No rejection from anywhere — I cleared CGPET and passed 12th PCM, so eligibility was fine. Admission Process: CGPET rank-based 12th pass with PCM Online counselling, then offline document verification Preferred Exam: CGPET Cutoff for CS/IT: Usually within 10k rank Whole process was smooth and simple.
Faculty
Faculty-to-Student Ratio & Approachability: Faculty-to-student ratio is okay, and most teachers are quite helpful. You can easily approach them after class or during free time. They do support you if you’re genuinely interested. Faculties I Liked: Vaibhav Sir (DSA): His way of teaching is very clear and simple. He makes logic easy to understand and gives good practice questions. Rupali Ma’am (Programming): She teaches programming in a very understandable way. Her examples help a lot in clearing concepts. Best Faculties (in my opinion): Vaibhav Sir Rupali Ma’am Faculties I Didn’t Like: Not anyone in particular, but sometimes few teachers just rush through the syllabus or don’t explain properly. Exams & Difficulty: We usually have 2 internal exams CT and 1 final exam every semester. If you attend classes and study regularly, exams are manageable. Failure rate is low to moderate, only those who don’t study properly may face issues. Course Curriculum: The syllabus is fine for the most part, especially DSA and programming. Some theory subjects feel outdated, but overall it’s okay if you stay focused.
Interview Experience
No, I didn't face any Group Discussion or Interview or Written Test for admission in SSIPMT Raipur. Admission Process: I got admission through CGPET counselling. The process was online. After the result, I registered, filled my choices, and got allotted SSIPMT based on my rank. No GD/Interview/Test: There was no extra test or interview taken by the college. Only CGPET rank was considered. Preparation: I prepared for CGPET with basic PCM concepts. Solved previous year papers and practiced MCQs from standard books and YouTube channels. Everything was smooth and online.
Night Life
There’s not much nightlife around SSIPMT Raipur. The vibe is more chill and quiet. Cafeteria closes by 5 PM, and there’s no gym on campus. The library also shuts by evening. Hostel timings are strict — students need to be inside by around 7:30 PM. No entry allowed after that. Mostly, students hang out during college hours. During events and fests, the vibe gets energetic. Popular hangout spots outside college are cafes near Telibandha or Magneto Mall, but not too frequent due to time limits. The locality is safe, but not very active at night.
