Remarks
I chose SRM over other colleges because I liked the course curriculum that was provided for my degree much better than others, the college infrastructure is also very impressive. I also got confirmed admissions from MIT Manipal, KIIT, VIT, but eventually chose SRM.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty relevant to what is required by the industry, a bit outdated courses which can be upgraded to new ones. Internal exams happen in about every one month, which cover smaller portions of the course, the end semester exams covers the whole course, and can be a little difficult.
Internships Opportunities
SRM offers a wide array of internships and opportunities across various disciplines. These companies usually visit the campus in 7th semester and continue to give out offers till your 8th semester. These internships bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.
Placement Experience
Students in my course were eligible to sit for campus placements starting from 7th semester of the course. Companies like Amazon, Wells Fargo, TCS, Wipro etc. visit the campus and make offers to students. The highest CTC for batch of 2024 was around 50 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition Fees (Yearly): Rs. 3,50,000 Apart from this there is a mandatory examination fees of around Rs. 5,000 which is to be paid each semester in order to appear for your semester end examinations. Scholarships are available for students which is based on their performance.
Campus Life
SRM hosts several fests, a nation-level cultural festival "Milan" and the techno-management fest "Aaruush", along with other events like "Yathraa". The SRM Central Library is a huge collection of books and journals.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1 faculty for every 60 students. The faculty are nice, easy to approach, and well equipped with their subject knowledge. Per semester you will have 3 internal exams, practical exams, and then the final end semster exams.
Night Life
The campus is equipped with gyms and other activity centers for each hosteller The in timing for the hostels is 9 PM. There a a good number of cafeterias in each instututional building, and a dedicated food court, which has a variety of food.
