Honest review for gndec

The curriculum really needs a updation we are still taught the things we learned in initial classes like input output devices etc. it is not much relevant now a days, students who want to do better must give time to self study but it kind of become difficult to have time for self study session because of college timings. nothing more than wht is written in books. Teachers should make students think out of box buy i think they themself cant think of more creativity. Mid sem examination are held twice a semester ,they aint really hard but teachers checking aint that good,even when u have written really acceptable and relevant answers they wont give u full marks.and the final examinations are held at the end of the semester

College provides several internships for monstly last year students. The companies that i have heard of capgemini , cognizant , brillio etc. they provide roles according to their degrees and capabilities. most of them are free internships .

Only 50% of students get on campus placement into companies like IBM,wipro,infosys but the ratio of high package is really low .like only 10% students have got about 24 lpa . The average package is about 6-7 lpa. Internships are also provided by the college in companies like net solutions , oyelabs , netsmartz infotech.its upon skills of student to get a placement at a good company

So the tution fee is 17000 nd it remains same throughout then overall fees for first year is 74000 nd for second year is 66500 nd for third it is 67839.sp the total fees is 2.5 lakh without hostel and scholarship.they provide total fee scholarship for sc student,some scholarship for single girl child and some for gill donors .they also provide financial aid for needy students.

Over all social life is okish here some students are friendly and have a good mindset but most of them do not even have a goal and if you are motivated or have goals they would not support u at all. There are about 2-3 events organised every semester such as tech fests or other cultural fests . Students can have a stall there but have to manage everything by themself. Sports competion are also organise. There are different clubsbut mostly 2-3 clubs are the active clubs,other arent much into work.

I took admission here as this is one of the popular colleges in punjab.Other than this I visited CT University,cgc nd wanted to take admission over there, but my family kind of manipulated me to be here in gndec. The admissions were made through 2 rounds of counselling, there was no such thing as an entrance exam was held, The cutoff for our course was about 80%.

The faculty to student ratio is alright but almost every month a teacher resigns college it disturbs the syllabis alot.some faculty members are really genuine nd easy to talk with ,while many of them are not that good,they use poor language for the student especially some senior teachers in bca department,they keep on insulting students about everything,even when a question is asked they ignore it nd donot support much extra activities which are one of most important even they nag about the extra activities organised by the college itself.another thing is about the security guards they are somehow rude to students but support rich students to even get their cars inside the campus and roam there disturbing others .

The gym over here is also very outdated they need to install new machines . We have about 3-4 canteens in campus but food from there isnt good at all i even got infections because of it . But there are cafes outside such as tigers kitchen that have good food. Nightlife aint much exciting as told by hostellers boys can hangout about 10 pm ,girls arent allowed to go out after 7 pm .mess food is okish too . In evening students can spend time playing sports at sports complex.but there is no air conditioning anywherre except labs .
