What Students Say
Likes
- The exposure you get in this college was the first thing that attracted me. There is a significant amount of foreign students, especially affricans.
- The university premises is HUGE, with many gardens and parks where you can relax during breaks.
- The overall environment is very peaceful, and ragging, atleast for me was non existent
Dislikes
- The location of this university is a real problem, especially for people who come on their own transport or taxis. 80 rs. Daily from metro to the university is pretty expensive
- The wifi is very slow and you have to login every time you live it's proximity
- The university only provides hostels for MBBS students. Third party hostels are total crap
Course Curriculum Overview
My course curriculum is pretty pragmatic and actually helpful. You understand political ideologies and how they can be applied to the international order. I don't personally think that there are any areas for improvement in my curriculum.
Fees and Financial Aid
My course fee is approximately 56000 rs. I got it after getting a 35% discount because of my board marks. The first semester fee was 32000, which included security money of 10000 and provisional admission fees of 22000.
Campus Life
There is a fresher party which is pretty cool, and is typically held in October The second event is the annual fest, which is held in January. There are many other technical events aswell, but it's hard to keep a track when they happen. There are 4 student run clubs; Agni, Neer, Vayu and prithvi. They are all centerd on different things like dancing, singing, debates and what not. I was a member of the Prithvi club, but decided to leave because I wanted to focus on my MUNs.
Admission
I chose Delhi University during my selection of Universities before CUET, but since there was no course of International Relations present in DU and JNU on Bachelor's level, I instead opted for Noida international University. The admission process is pretty simple, you just need to get 50% or higher in your boards and you are good to go. This university prefers Boards, but CUET will work too.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio in my course is OK. In major 1 and 2, I have 12 classmates, but in minors, which are also common classes, it goes upto 70-80 to 1. There are 2 exams every year, which are end semester. Dr. Mohnish is a really helpful and supportive proffessor, and his classes are the most interesting. Mr. Alam on the other hand, not so much. His classes are more focused on our carreers than the syllabus
Night Life
NIU students have no nightlife. If you live in a 3rd party hostel only then can you have a nightlife. This is an aspect that is really an issue for NIU. And that is why I will give this aspect a 1/5
