Course Curriculum Overview

5

The B.A. (Hons.) Political Science curriculum is comprehensive and relevant, covering political theories, governance, international relations, and public policies. The inclusion of constitutional studies and political philosophy influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum effectively prepares students for civil services, research, and law by integrating contemporary political issues and case studies. However, it could benefit from more practical components, such as internships, field studies, and research projects. Teaching methods should also focus on interactive discussions and debates rather than rote learning. Exams are conducted semester-wise, with a mix of written papers and internal assessments. The difficulty level is moderate to challenging, depending on analytical skills. Some subjects require critical thinking, making exams less about memorization and more about interpretation. Overall, while the curriculum is well-structured, adding skill-based learning, political simulations, and interdisciplinary courses would enhance its real-world applicability.

Placement Experience

5

As I belong to humanities field, i have no idea or knowledge about placement mechanism in our college. But in interaction with btech and mba students, I had a oversight of placement. In my knowledge one of my freind has got a job offer around 3-4 lakh per annum from edu company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee is Rs.32000/-. It is submitted in two EMI's {16000+100(student welfare charge)}. If your 2 semester result is above 7 cgpa yow will provided RS 1000 concession in your next emi. At the time of admission if I have referral of any student of the university or u belong to ews or sc/st category or u have scored 80% or above in ur 12 th exams, a concession of 10% is given. University also provide guidance and mechanism to get up government scholarships.

Campus Life

5

The overall experience is good. All festivals are celebrated that includes diwali holi navratri etc.the major program or function is Named (Anubhuti ) which is celebrated every year on the eve of establishment of the college.

Admission

I applied to ( CUET) for B.A. (Hons.) Political Science and received admission offers from [city law college ]. I chose [shri ramswaroop memorial University] because of its faculty expertise, curriculum relevance, campus environment, and better placement or research opportunities compared to other options. my current college provided more academic flexibility, extracurricular exposure, or affordability. I faced rejections from [lucknow university], mainly due to higher cutoffs, competition, and performance in entrance exams. A better exam strategy or application profile might have improved my chances.

Faculty

5

The faculty-to-student ratio is balanced, allowing students to interact closely with professors. Faculty members are generally approachable and supportive, encouraging discussions beyond academics. Some of the best professors include [Ram Pratap yadav(HOD of Political science) and Pallavi sharma ], known for engaging lectures. The course structure is well-designed, covering theoretical and practical aspects. Exams are conducted 6 times a year, with a mix of assignments, midterms, and finals. The marking scheme is fair, ensuring conceptual understanding. Overall, the curriculum is relevant to industry needs, though some outdated topics need revision. The college provides a good academic environment, preparing students for careers effectively.

Night Life

5

It is far from the main city and being a day scholar I didnt have much knowledge about night life . But hostel students are not allowed to go outside the campus after 6:00 pm. Or functions of the college most probably end at 11-12 pm fir safety of students

Remarks:

Any of my siblings studied from this college which gave me a clear view of the environment of this college from the start. It was also very close to my home making it easier for me to commute daily. And as I always wanted to study in an all girls college, this seemed a better option. It had good faculty and infrastructure making it different from other colleges around.
