Course Curriculum Overview
The aspect that made me choose my course is the exposure to patients and medical field. The curriculum prepares me to help others in the best way possible. The field is about patient care and well being. The increase in exposure will enhance the experience and help in providing proper and perfect health care. The frequency and the timing of exams are perfectly balanced and helpful to everyone.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship opportunities with the 9 month compulsory internship in civil hospital gandhinagar and 3 month optional internship in any other hospitals nearby. The projects and thesis submission helps in improving the resume and providing knowledge and clarity about the future.
Fees and Financial Aid
Myself Jeswin Mathew, I'm pursuing PharmD, in K.B. Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Gandhinagar. I'm currently in 3rd year and by far the experience has been fantastic. The infrastructure isn't that much catchy but the quality of education provided is very good. The fee structure is 210000/year and the fees increase by 15% for every new batch. A scholarship programme is also in active, if a student secures highest rank in his class, he/she will be awarded with half of their total fees. This helps in motivating students to perform even more profoundly.
Campus Life
There are quite a few events organised by the college, which include both academic and co-curricular events like Pharmacy week programme, ISPOR , Kala-Utsav, Genesis, SIRAAJ etc. SportsBuzz , an energetic sports event in which the whole college participates as one and competes in different sport events.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities is mediocre. AC and non-AC rooms are also provided. The AC rooms are lavish and awesome while non-AC rooms are not that great. The food quality is not that good. The registration to hostel is done by hostel only and it's near to affordable for middle class families.
Admission
The main reason I applied for this college is the exposure provided. The interactions with everyone (alumini and other CEOs) is conducted. The tie-up with the government hospitals help in providing the amount of exposure needed to improve the skills required on patient care.
Faculty
The number of faculties is sufficient and every batch has a teacher as their mentor till the course ends. The faculties are very friendly and approachable. There are mainly 4 exams conducted, for semester courses 2 internal/mid-sem exams and 2 university exams are conducted while for yearly programmes or courses 3 internals and 1 year end university exam is conducted. The pass to fail ratio is very minimal as only 2-3 percent of students fail. And the ones who fail get 2 chances to clear their AT-KT exams.
Night Life
The night life in campus is great. The hostel vibe is different around night time. There are quite a few hangout places around the campus area and outside like GH-4 garden, ChaiG etc. The hostel timings differ for boys and girls. Boys should be inside the hostel premises before 10 PM while girls should be in by 6 PM.
