The KB Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research is the first self-financed institute of its kind located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It was established in 1995 and is being managed by the public trust, Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal that has been in the field of education since 1919. The institution aims at imparting knowledge in undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral level education in the field of pharmaceuticals. The Institute has excellent facilities and infrastructure. The facilities include an auditorium, animal house, hostel, bank, staff quarters, student store, etc. Moreover, KB Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research has 16 high-tech and well-equipped labs. The environment inspires and urges students to grow and widen their horizons.

The students are admitted to the first semester through the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), based on their performance in the GUJCET examination. Students from recognized universities or colleges may apply for lateral entry, subject to approval from ACPC and KBIPER. Candidates with a Diploma in Pharmacy may be eligible for lateral entry into the third semester, depending on the institution's policies and ACPC guidelines.
