Course Curriculum Overview

4

My?interest in the subject led me to choose Economics at Midnapore College. The economics curriculum is well-structured, covering Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Development?Economics, and Econometrics, but a little more practical application would have been good. The professors are qualified, the attitude of the course is fun, however, this cannot be said about all?of them, some of them are struggling of lecturing in a classical way. Exams are on time, but?easy, although mathematical subjects are more difficult. Assessments should be more frequent but that could lead towards more presence in?the industry. These seminars and?guest lectures add to the learning experience. A good program overall, though it could be better with more?interaction and practical skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have paid 3850 as our 1st sem admission fees and 2900 as our 2nd sem admission fees. We have not faced any difficulty to get admission here. Our college currently doesn't provide any type of scholarship . But we get a scholarship names SVMCM from the west bengal government. It easily covers our 1 year college fees along with few months of personal expenses. Currently we are not getting any type of scholarship facilities from our college.

Campus Life

4

I have got some good friends. All the department teachers are so good and with nice behavior. They treat us with good treatment. Swaraswati puja, independence Day, teachers day etc. Were celebrated in our college. We have our library in the college. Almost every book of my need was available there. It's complete all my book related problems.

Hostel Facilities

4

Midnapore College Autonomous provides hostel facilities to its students which includes a well-maintained mess with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options such as?rice, dal, vegetables, eggs, etc. Food quality is okay; can be better in taste and?variety. Its setup consists of clean rooms, study areas, and?basic amenities like WiFi and filtered water. Students need to apply for this joint course by?filling up a form during admission and then they are allotted the course based on availability. In places like Battala and Station Road, PG costs?vary from ?1000-?3000 per month, unlike hostel fees.

Admission

The Midnapore College Autonomous is a College with high reputation. My full family has completed their graduation and higher studies here. So they strongly recomended me to take admission in this college. I have applied and got chance in Several colleges in kolkata. But I have decided to take admission here for my family recommendation and trust. The admission process was so simple. I have to apply through the online website. Then based on my merit score, it was decided if I am eligible or not in this college. Luckily I got the chance in the 1st merit list. Then I paid the admission charges online and was invited by the college for physical documents verification. It was not so hard. It was easy and convenient eonough.

Faculty

We have so small numbers of students in all semesters. We have 4 teachers in our department including HOD and one para teacher. Our HOD is Chandrima Chakraborty Ma'am She takes our Economics classes, she treats us as her own child. If we got any problem, we go straight to her and she solves it. Her way of teaching us is so convenient. We love her way of teaching. Then we have Shrabasti Dasgupta Ma'am. She takes our Statistics class. She is also very frank and sweet. She talks straight forward to us and teaches us so good. Then we have SM sir. He's a para teacher. He is too simple and sweet. He teaches us by telling stories and real life incident. Overall our faculty is Good enough. Almost everyone passes their exams in their 1st sem. No failure is seen still now.

Night Life

In night life, the experience is next level of satisfaction. We sit under the trees with ambient lighting there. Next if we go to the ground, we can see kids playing, there are many sitting areas, we can chill there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
