A students Review - Uttarakhand Open University

Psychology was a curious topic for me. Even the curriculum was advanced and interesting. It included case studies and modern tone or writing. Nothing was boring in the chapters. The details were comprehensive and easier to understand, however, sometimes I thought it could have been more example-oriented. Other than psychology, I liked the language of English literature too but Hindi was the most difficult. The language for the subject was too complex and with no material available to study, it becomes much more difficult.

I have to pay 5000 to 6000 approximately every year. The admission fee is around 500 rs. and along with the other courses, the psychology subject required practical so the fees is more. The sum of other programme fee includes 2500 rs. (not including book expenses) And the remaining quantity is mostly for psychology student. The students who doesn't have practicals included are only paying 2 to 3 thousand money in my college. No scholarships are available.

Not for every festival but the important ones like Diwali, Holi, and others, programs are held with all kinds of performances included. They also provide online workshops and learning events for students of psychology. The university is not very active in terms of sports, however, it does offer interactions with different groups.

Before Uttarakhand open universityI I applied to Delhi University but there was no proper notification or updation for exams, books availability, or any other information was not circulated properly. For regular students, I don't know, but for distance learners, it is very difficult to study in Delhi University. They charge fees but they don't actually look for the students. That was the reason why I applied at Uttarakhand Open University. The teachers are much more involved in students' career than Delhi University. If I talk about my main subject, that is psychology, the teachers were interactive and co-operative while at Delhi University, I didn't even know my teachers. You can fill online application or go to the admission centre, give them information and documents and further they will proceed. You will lead basic documents like Aadhar card, 10th and 12th marksheet, and others. The course fees depends on the level of the subject, if it includes practical,the fees is likely to be more.

Being a student of distance learning, I can only provide information regarding the same. I really admire my psychology teachers. Why? Because they are very understanding and cooperative towards students. They don't pass negative comments or judge our intellect if we ask any doubt. Infact, they enjoy teaching. I didn't like the other subject teachers as we don't even know their faces. They never took any sessions for distance learners. The exams differ as per the program we choose. It could be yearly or semester-wise. The course curriculum is good.

They are a few cafes and restaurants around the campus. Being located in Nainital, you also get a good view of hills with its balanced environment. The areas are clean and calm with amazing stalls and dishes available.
